Frank and Kate pressed on, while Tellka remained in her spirit form. The only time that she came back was when they were attacked by demons, and even then, she still didn't seem like her old self.
Finally, the trio reached the cell area, and let themselves in. They were greeted by Alex and Diane in fighting stances, while Ellen was in an "en guarde" stance.
"Whoa guys... it's us!" Frank nearly screamed. Ellen lowered her rapier, as Alex and Diane eased out of fighting stances.
"What took y'all so long?" Diane asked.
Kate shivered. "You really don't want to know..."
"About time you slackers came back. LET ME OUT!!!" Janet screamed.
"Only if you're nice." Frank said, drawing a chuckle from Alex and Diane.
Janet scowled, but before she said anything, Frank interrupted her.
"I was kidding... sarcasm... you do know what that is, right?"
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Janet said before rolling her eyes. Frank sighed as he unlocked the cell door, freeing her.
Janet sauntered out of her cell, then gave the group a look of disapproval.
"What... not even a thank you?" Frank said in shock.
"Why should I? It's obvious that this is all a set up." She then walked over to the door.
"If I were you, I wouldn't go out there without a weapon!" Ellen called out.
"Well, apparently, you're not me, so I am going out there!" Janet said as she slammed the door behind her.
"Stubborn as always..." Alex said as he shook his head.
"So... what happened out there?" Diane asked quietly.
Frank was about to reply, when a scream came from the hallway.
"That was Janet!" Kate said in a scared tone.
Without a word, Frank and Ellen rushed the door, with the four woren in tow. As soon as they stepped out, the saw the same demon, now littered with gunshot wounds, grasping Janet by the neck.
"What is that thing???" Alex got out as he got into a fighting stance.
"I don't know! I've never seen a demon like that!" Ellen said in a panic ridden tone.
Frank groaned. "I thought I killed it! It's only weakness is gunfire!"
Diane looked at the Oni wide-eyed. "We've gotta do somethin' before it kills her!"
"It's an Oni... The last time we fought, we barely survived!" Frank said as he noticed Tellka shake her head and Kate shiver.
The demon laughed maniacally. "That's right, mortal... That wimpy weapon of yours alone is not enough to kill me... though it may have put me in a world of hurt!" He punctuated it by squeezing Janet a little harder.
Ellen was about to fire her assault rifle, when the demon shouted out.
"Don't even think about it, Persona User... If you value the life of this girl, you wouldn't dare fire... Well, it doesn't matter... She will be the first to die, before I kill the rest of you..." Frank noticed that Janet had squeezed her eyes shut, and was starting to turn purple. Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind the demon.
"PERSONA!!!" A female, Japanese accented voice yelled. Suddenly, the Oni dropped Janet as he was hit by a minor spell.
The Oni turned to scowl at his new assailant. There was a teenager, about Frank's age. She was also wearing a St. Hermelin uniform, but she had a long skirt instead of one like Ellen's. She was also holding some throwing razors, and had a gun of sorts hidden in her jacket. She was foreign in nature, and had a gold hair clip in her short, black hair.
"YUKI!!!" Ellen and Frank yelled out. Unfortunately, She was preoccupied at the moment.
"Another Persona user... You seem weaker than your colleagues... AGH!!!" The demon's spiel was interrupted by a gunblast from Frank.
Before the demon could move again, Ellen greeted it with a three-round burst from her assault rifle.
"ARGH!!!" The demon groaned. What it didn't notice was Yuki drawing a combat shotgun from her jacket.
"Here!!!" Yuki yelled as she pulled the trigger on her gun. It was a weaker blast than Frank's, but it got the job done. The Oni finally died, and this time, it faded from existence.
Yuki put her gun away, then looked at Frank's party. "Frank??? Ellen??? I thought..." She shook her head. "Still, it's great to see you two!" Yuki then scanned the rest of Frank's group.
"Philemon said that we'd be getting help... You're from Windia... the world Frank and Ellie were sent to..." Diane interrupted Yuki.
"Ya had the same dream, didn't ya? Who are ya?" She asked.
"Forgive me for not introducing myself. I'm Yukino Kauro... but all my friend call me Yuki." She said with a bow.
Diane grinned. "I'm Diane Brandshire... and this is my older brother, Alex." She said as she motioned to Alex with her thumb.
"How do you do?" Alex said as he offered a hand, which Yuki firmly shook.
"To be honest... I've had better days... This day's been getting worse... first the Deva System... now the Snow Queen..." Yuki was interrupted by Frank.
"Wait... Day??? Ellen and I have been in Windia for months! How..." Yuki cut Frank off.
"Philemon explained it to my party... When people are taken from one world to another, time freezes for that person's life in his home world, while all other things go on. When your friends return to Windia, time will resume normally... Of course they will have the memories of what happened here..."
"Like in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe... When they went back to their world from Narnia... I think I understand..." Ellen said thoughtfully. Diane and Alex nodded.
Kate was "hiding" behind Frank. "Um... I'm Kate... nice to meet you. And she's Tellka..." Kate said quietly.
"Nice to meet you, Kate. And you Tellka..." Tellka's only response to Yuki was a snort. It was then that Yuki noticed Janet on the ground, still trying to get some air.
"Hey... are you okay?" Yuki asked as she extended an arm to help her up. Janet reluctantly took it.
Janet was mumbling, but somewhere in there, Yuki heard a thank you.
"And you are..." Yuki asked. Janet only replied by answering her name after rubbing her neck.
Frank spoke up. "Let's head back to the lobby and talk there..."
"Good idea... We need to meet up with Brad at Joy Street later, and see what we're going to do." Yuki said seriously.
Frank's party nodded, save Janet. Then everyone followed Yuki and Frank back to the lobby.
