A Return Trip Home

AN: Once again, this is a crossover story with Kate's WRPG characters and mine. E-mail all comments to FrankMayn@comcast.net. Thanks again for letting me use your characters, Kate!

Meow... I should be dead again... but this time... I hear voices, meow...

All I remember... is being brought to this dimension... attaining my mortal form... then getting killed by those high level demons, hiss...

Scratch that, meow... I'm alive, now, purr... But my friends... my poor friends... dead by what the Snow Queen had sent into this world... But, meow, why am I still alive?

"Hey... she's coming around..."

A male voice? Meow?

"You idiot! What if... if... that THING tries to kill us???"

Hiss... I don't like her attitude... Are these other minor demons?

"She won't, Janet... Frank has a good mind about these things..."

Gentle... like a caring person... Myah? A demon named Frank???"

Nekomata's eyes slowly fluttered to life to glance at her saviors.

Nekomata: A minor demon. She resembles a two-tailed cat girl. Legend has it that she was a cat-spirit who gained power over time. She now has a mortal form, but won't attack unless provoked. She has a tendency to punctuate her sentences with meows, purrs, and myahs.

"MYAH!!! HUMANS!!!" Nekomata screamed out. Frank was trying to calm her down.

"Hey... hush now... we saved you from the brink of death..." Frank said quietly. Nekomata was quickly glancing around to get her bearings.

"You're near the police station, Nekomata... In the park with the Augustus Tree." Ellen said as she approached her.

Nekomata turned to the person who spoke her name. "MEOW! Hiss... How do you know who I am?"

Kate took a look at the demon. She knew it was getting angry, since like a woren, her ears began to lay back.

Nekomata looked at the party with suspicion, until she got a glimpse of the three woren.

"Myah? More like me? But... purr... you only have one tail..." She said quietly.

"Ya... we're woren... me, my bro here, and Kate." Diane started.

"We're normal citizens in the city we came from... We're here to help Frank and my girlfriend..." Alex said as he moved closer to Ellen.

Kate spoke up quietly. "If we knew what we had to do here... we'd be on our way to do it. Right now, we know that we're involved... And if following Frank and Ellen, along with the rest of their friends will help us get home, then I'm in."

Nekomata looked at the group. She was especially interested in the people called worens, but the one girl that kept glaring at her left her scared. Finally, she turned her attention to the St. Hermelin students, both current and former.

"MYAH!!! You three are Persona users??? How cool! Purr..." Frank turned and glanced at Nekomata.

"You can tell?" He asked in shock. Nekomata slowly got up and sat against the trunk of the Augustus tree. Both her tails seemed to twitch with a sense of pride.

"It's easy, meow... Your resonance and chi is different from theirs... same goes for both of them, purr..." Nekomata said as she motioned at Ellen and Yuki.

"I'll accept that, then." Frank said with a smile. To his surprise, Nekomata smiled back.

"Meow... I can also tell you are the one that saved me..." She said quietly.

Yuki spoke up. "I'm sorry about your friends... If we were there, we would have done something..."

Nekomata glanced at Yuki. "Meow... for some reason, I'm compelled to believe you... So please... wherever you go... take me with you!"

Janet groaned. "No way, kitty. You'd probably end up being more of a hindrance than a help to our little jaunt home."

"Hiss! I don't like you and your little attitude... I know some demons who would love to rip your smarmy little head off!"

Janet yawned, then seemed to turn her attention to polishing her gun. "Whatever..." She said quietly.

"I thin' it'd be a great idea to have her tag along!" Diane said with some enthusiasm.

"Well... it's up to Frank to make that decision, sis... He's the leader, after all." Alex noticed that as soon as he said leader, Frank seemed to flinch a little.

"I don't mind... She could be a great help to us." Frank said to his friends. There were mixed emotions from the group of students. Kate was ecstatic to having another person in the party. The only one who seemed to object was Janet, who scowled as soon as Frank made the decision.

Nekomata let out a long purr, then jumped up. "Thank you, meow! I won't let you down, purr..." She then sauntered up to Kate.

"Meow... you've got another spirit tagging along with you... I can feel it radiating out from your soul, purr..." She said quietly.

Kate's eyes widened. "How... could you tell?"

Nekomata seemed to paw at her own face. "Purr... it's simple, just like reading the auras of the Persona users in your group, meow. I'm not exactly alive either, meow. I can tell these things..." She said as both her ears twitched along with the whiskers on her human-like face.

Kate nodded, and smiled at Nekomata. It seemed like both of them would get along quite nicely.

"All right..." Frank spoke out over his group. "Let's get moving... Joy Street is a straight shot from here... Just turn right, then left when we see the police station again."

A grim nod came from the group, before Yuki spoke out.

"Hey... Where'd Tellka go?"

Kate looked at Yuki. "She... went out already... to scout ahead..."

Yuki managed a slight nod, before the group of students plus one purring demoness, walked out of the safety of the park.

Eventually, the group made it to the Joy Street Shopping District. Along the way, they had gotten into battles, and both Frank and Ellen noted that the demons now in Lunarvale were much stronger than before.

Puffing hard, Frank managed to close the doors to the shopping mall behind him as soon as his last teammate was inside.

"At least those things don't have the gall to come into the malls or the Yin-Yan..." Frank said as he caught his breath.

Yuki took a look at Nekomata. "I think we need to get her some armor... The Rosa Candida recently began to stock armor as well as clothing, since this incident began..."

Janet immediately wandered to the Rosa Candida. Apparently, she was engrossed by the elegant gown that was on display in the window.

Yuki watched Janet, then turned to the rest of the group.

"We'll be at the Rosa Candida... I'll outfit Nekomata in some new armor. Why don't you and Ellen go ahead and look around? Brad's waiting in the Peace Diner, okay?"

"All right, Yuki." Ellen said as she watched her classmate and the cat-girl walk into the Rosa Candida.

"Peace Diner? Isn't that where those... what was it again?" Kate asked Frank.

"The food that Alex's party left us... the cheeseburgers... yeah..." Frank replied.

"Ya know... we kinda missed lunch, what with all this happening..." Diane said as her stomach rumbled quite loudly.

Alex chuckled. "I know... I'm kinda hungry too... let's go over to wherever Yuki told us to go."

Ellen nodded. "I could go for a cheeseburger..."

"All right... since this place is safe, the store should be open. I'll treat!" Frank said as he opened the front door of the restaurant.
