A Return Trip Home

AN: Once again, this is a fanfic that crosses over my WRPG characters with Kate's WRPG characters. Thanks once more, Kate! E-mail all comments to FrankMayn@comcast.net

The four teenagers from St. Hermelin lead their party through the fog filled streets of Lunarvale. The journey from the Joy Street Shopping District to the Sun Mall was not an easy one, even for the experienced Persona users. Considering that the city was infested with lesser demons when both Frank and Ellen were there, and the demons that Frank took on during the coliseum incident were considerably weaker, everyone had quite a workout, including Tellka.

As soon as they reached Sun Mall, everyone collapsed onto the benches.

"Jeez... these things... they don't give up..." Tellka said as she examined her staff.

Brad ejected the empty magazine from his machine pistol. "It's gotten a lot worse, since the school came back into the world..." He said as he reloaded his gun.

Janet snorted. "Honestly... you people think you can change everything... Don't you realize you're chasing after nothing? What is the point of doing all of this crap?" Janet ended her sentence by ejecting an empty magazine from her Beretta.

Alex was about to say something, when Yuki approached Janet.

"Look... I am sick and tired of your constant whining! That's all you did on the way here!" Janet stood up and glared at Yuki.

"That's a load of crap, girl! I fought those demons as well as killed some of them!"

"We literally had to force you to move in battle, Janet! I don't know what you're thinking, but some of us nearly got killed because of you!" Yuki said into her face.

Frank, Ellen, and Brad were thoroughly surprised. It took a lot to anger Yuki, and apparently Janet had done everything in her power to do so.

"Is she usually like this?" Alex asked Ellen quietly.

"No, Alex... Yuki is usually calm and collected. Janet must have really done something to piss her off..."

"Heh... maybe it had somethin' ta do with how's she's been actin'... honestly, y'all... I've never heard someone whine that much in mah life!" Diane added with a chuckle.

"Frank???" Kate asked.

Frank looked over, and saw Kate, with her ears and her tail both twitching in worry.

"I know... separate them, before things get out of hand..."

"Need some help, Frank?" Tellka asked with a smirk.

"Yeah... Get Yuki, Tellka. I'll get Janet."

Frank and Tellka separated the arguing teens, and noticed that Janet was giving Yuki the patented glare of death.

"Tellka... she's doing everything she can to anger me..." Yuki said quietly.

"Don't worry about it... Just get her back later." Tellka said with a grin.

"LET... ME... GO..." Janet growled out.

"Not until you cool down, Janet!" Frank said harshly. Janet stopped struggling, and Frank finally let her go. She stormed off to a bench that was overlooking a fountain.

"Meow... some humans are strange..." Nekomata said quietly.

"Janet's a Windian, Nekomata... not a human." Frank corrected.

"Myah??? Windian? Now I'm confused..." Nekomata replied.

"Well... her clan was once able to turn into giant birds... but they lost that power over time. Some of them have wings, but others don't."

Frank heard a purring from the fun loving demoness. "A bird!!! Purr... I like birds..."

"She's in a funk at the moment... don't mess with her, ok?" Frank asked Nekomata.

"Purr... okay!" She replied with a kitty grin. Frank couldn't help but smile.

Frank over looked his group, and contemplated the situation at hand.

"Look... after going through hell out there... we'd better resupply ourselves and buy some weapons, ammo, and armor. Ellen... can you and Alex go to the pharmacy and buy some medicine? Yuki, Brad, Diane, Neko-chan... could you three head to the Parabellum and get some new ammo and weapons for anyone who needs it? Tellka, Kate, Janet and I will go to the Rosa Candida and look for some armor."

To Frank's surprise, everyone agreed, including a reluctant Janet. Frank figured that she must like the Rosa Candida, so he appointed her to his group.

"We'll meet in front of the Candy store within the hour, ok? See ya!" Frank said as each group parted ways.

Ellen and Alex approached the Pharmacy. As soon as Alex opened the door, his ears began to lay back and his tail was twitching in disapproval.

"Jeez... what's this song??? It's too cheery! And I can't even understand the words!"

Ellen laughed. "That song is always playing here... Don't worry about it..."

Alex entered after Ellen, and looked around in wonder.

"Frogs... frog decorations everywhere... I wonder if the owner likes frogs..." Alex said outloud.

"He does, actually... this song is called the Frog Song... It's from another country..." Ellen explained.

Alex let out a low chuckle. "You've got some weird things in your world, Ellie..."

Ellen laughed, before leading Alex over to some shelves.

"So... what are we looking for again?" Alex asked.

Ellen pointed to some bottles, balls, and some pills on one shelf. "We need these... Ripobitan is in the bottles... It's like those things in Windia that heal a person... LifeOrbs are these little balls here... and these pills heal summoning power, as well as magic power..." Ellen explained.

Alex nodded, and went to retrieve a basket to store their purchases.

As they approached the counter to pay, the owner, a balding old man looked up and smiled at Ellen.

"Ellen! How've you been? Is Tammy okay? I don't care about that worthless son of mine... but Tammy..."

Ellen rolled her eyes. "Tammy's probably okay, Mr. Williams... Tad should be fine too."

It was then that Alex approached the counter with the basket in hand. "Sir... we'd like to purchase these..."

"AGH!!! A demon!!!" He said as he dove under the counter. Alex and Ellen whirled, but saw nothing,

"Mr. Williams... we don't see..." It was then that Tad's father came up, armed with a plastic baseball bat and wearing a salad bowl on his head.

"It's him, Ellen! Stay back! I'll protect you!" Mr. Williams said as he began waving his bat at Alex

"He's not a demon, Mr. Willams... he's from a different world..." Ellen began to explain.

"I'm just a normal person in my world..." Alex said as he raised his hands to show he wasn't going to do anything.

"Okay... With all that happened... I guess I could believe you..." He then took his Salad Bowl off and rang up their purchases.

After Ellen and Alex left, Alex turned to his girlfriend.

"You've got some interesting things and people here..."

Ellen chuckled. "Trust me, hon... you haven't seen anything yet."

While Ellen and Alex were busy at the pharmacy, Yuki, Brad, Diane, and Nekomata were busy at The Parabellum.

As soon as Diane entered, her eyes went wide. Yuki and Brad could hear a purring coming from the wide-eyed Woren.

"Yuki... do you think it was a mistake to bring Diane here?" Brad asked his classmate.

Yuki watched as Diane picked up a Colt Python Magnum Revolver, and proceeded to shoot at imaginary targets, stopping once to open the revolver chamber, pretend to unload and reload it, and repeating the routine over again.

"I'd say it was..." Yuki said with a low chuckle to Brad.

Nekomata watch as Diane did the same routine with a similar revolver. She decided to approach Diane as Yuki and Brad went to look around for some new ammo and maybe even some new weapons.

"Meow... what're you doing?" Nekomata asked in curiosity.

Diane looked up from the assault rifle that she was examining. "Jus' lookin' around, that's all..."

"Meow... seems like you're having fun..." Nekomata said with a trademark kitty grin.

"Well... I kinda have a knack for these kinda things... anything with a blade, or somethin' that shoots usually catches ma attention..." Diane said as she shouldered the rifle and pretended once again to shoot at things.

"Meow? Now I really am confused..." Nekomata said with a shrug.

"Besides... Ellie wouldn't let me look at her gun afta Alex told her somethin'..." Diane said as she replaced her rifle with a combat shotgun.

Nekomata stood silent as she watched Diane shoot, pump the gun, and pretend to load it like she had seen Frank do with his weapon.

As Diane was about to reach for a flip down model 79 grenade launcher, Brad and Yuki approached her.

"We've got what we needed..." Brad said as he hefted a bag of bullets.

"Did y'all git me a weapon???" Diane said as she eyed the grenade launcher.

Brad and Yuki looked at each other, before turning to Diane.

"Um... no Diane..." Yuki said quietly.

To Brad's, Yuki's. and Nekomata's surprise, Diane's tail and ears drooped.

"Aww... why not, y'all?" Diane said as she stared at the grenade launcher.

"Just trust us on this, okay Diane?" Brad said as he loaded a clip full of Silvertips into his machine pistol.

"But I wanna git me a gun!" Diane said as she stared at the grenade launcher.

"Come on Diane..." Yuki said as she and Brad had to drag her outta the gun shop, with a giggling Nekomata tailing behind them.

Meanwhile, Kate, Tellka, Janet and Frank were at the Rosa Candida.

Upon entering, Tellka had approached the section with the armor, while Kate decided to look around curiously. Janet was, once again, looking at some of the latest fashions to grace Lunarvale. She spotted a similar dress like the one in the other Rosa Candida, and let out a long sigh.

Frank approached Tellka, and he could hear her criticizing the armor that was on sale.

"Honestly... how could anything so flimsy protect someone?" Tellka said with disapproval.

"That's a Kevlar Vest, Tellka. It's supposed to stop bullets from actually hurting a person." Frank said with a chuckle.

"Really..." Tellka said in a challenge.

"Yes, Tellka. I used to wear one, since I picked it up from SEBEC my first time through..." Frank said quietly.

"Oh? Why don't you wear it now?" Tellka said with a smirk.

"Well... it can stop bullets... but a scythe tore it apart."

Tellka nodded, and turned to the other armor on display. Frank turned, and saw Kate staring at a tiger patterned dress on display. As Frank approached, he noticed that Kate let out a small shudder.

"Frank... I thought that there weren't Woren in your world..."

"There aren't, Kate. The only things with a fur pattern like yours is a tiger..."

Kate closed her eyes. "The poor tiger then... It didn't have to be killed like this." She said quietly.

Frank sighed, which brought a surprised look from Kate. "Kate... a tiger wasn't killed to make that dress. It's just a pattern, okay?"

Kate immediately perked up. "A pattern? So nothing died to make this... Come to think of it, I might look good in this..."

Frank smiled, then saw Janet who was lost in thought. He approached her, and noticed that she was gazing at some dresses that were straight from Paris.

Frank cleared his throat, and immediately, Janet turned to glare at him.

"What do you want???" Janet said harshly.

"Hey... I just like to talk, that's all..." Frank said as he examined the dresses that Janet was looking at.

"I have nothing to say..." Janet said. She then turned her attention to the dresses once more.

"Wow... a bit pricey... don't you think so?" Frank said as he looked at the price tag.

Janet said nothing in response. Frank sighed, then made a decision.

"Look Janet. You've been upset since we've gotten here... There has to be something we can do in order to cheer you up..."

Janet scowled at him. "Believe me, boy... There is NOTHING you can do to cheer me up. All I want to do is go home, and go to sleep."

Frank glanced at the price tag again, then handed the proper amount to Janet. "Look... I just want us to work together... I made this money from busting up some of the demons. Buy yourself something nice..."

As Frank went to leave, Janet just looked at him in shock.

"Tellka... find any armor?" Frank asked.

"Just these vests... and these weird shoes that say, "Nike"." Tellka said in confusion.

"Well... We're wearing stuff stronger than the vests... and we don't need new shoes..." Frank said quietly.

"I've got extra cash... Those demons seem to carry a lot... Kate? How about that dress you were looking at?"

Kate was shocked. "Frank! I couldn't!"

Frank waved a hand. "Kate... I insist... We'll make more out there... If some of those demons don't listen."

Janet looked over, and along with Kate and Tellka, remembered the failed attempts at contacting demons.

Kate smiled. "Okay!"

Finally, the three groups met in front of the candy shop. Ellen and Alex distributed medicine, while Brad and Yuki distributed new ammo and backpacks to those who needed them. Kate and Janet were busy loading their backpacks, especially with the boxed dresses when Frank began to speak.

"All right now... we're not too far from the shrine... Let's get going... and please... Don't get hurt... If you've got to, run from battle."

The entire group nodded grimly, before heading out the other end of the mall.
