Life at Windian High (Part 2)

It was after work for both Chris and Diane. The two were slowly making their way to his house. Diane was looking forward to dinner, but in all honesty, she was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

What if they dun like me??? What if I'm not dressed well enough? What if they thin' tha' I'm not good enough fer their son?

"Diane??? Hey! Torana to Diane... you there?"

"Huh?" Diane Brandshire lightly shook her head before turning to look at her boyfriend. Chris looked back at her and noticed that her tail was lashing about nervously.

"Hey... just calm down..." Chris said quietly as he put an arm around Diane. "Everything will be okay..."

Diane turned her head slightly to look at her boyfriend. As she began to talk, her ears began to flick nervously. "Ah guess... If ya say so Chris..."

"That's the spirit!" Chris smiled at Diane and planted a light kiss on her forehead. Both woren continued to walk until they had reached Chris's home. In the distance, the dojo and part of the garden could be seen. After knocking on the door, Chris turned back to Diane, his tail waving happily.

"Mmm..." Diane licked her lips and grinned, revealing her canines. "Wha is tha' smell?"

"That is my mom's famous roast, Diane. I asked her to cook it tonight." Chris rubbed the back of his neck. Before he knew it, Diane had thrown her arms around his neck and was kissing him.

"Chris! How'd ya know that I loved roast?" Diane purred at her boyfriend and grinned. Before he could respond, someone cleared his throat from the doorway.

Both woren turned slowly and noticed a rather intimidating looking male woren standing in the doorway, with a grin on his face. The woren had long black hair like Chris, but had dark green eyes that had a look of experience to them. He had the dark fur coloring like his son, but it blended off to a lighter orange as it came to his face. The stripes that adorned his fur were a shade of deep brown. Currently, he was wearing a pair of blue open toed boots, pair of blue jeans, and a dark green shirt.

"Da... Dad! We didn't know..." If it could have been possible, his fur would have turned a bright shade of red.

"Mr. Fallon!" Diane stammered out as her tail began to lash around nervously. "Ah... I kin explain..."

Jonathan Fallon looked at the couple for a moment before he started to laugh. "There's nothing to explain... I understand perfectly... Why, you two act just like your mother and I when we were your ages..." Jonathan placed a hand on his chin for a moment. "Anyway, why don't you both come in? Dinner's ready..."

Heh... I like his father already... great coliseum fighter... an' he likes me as well... Diane smiled to herself as she and Chris walked into his home.

"Diane! You came!!!" A small, girlish voice sounded out. Diane looked and saw Cherise looking at her with a smile.

"Heya kiddo!" Diane crouched down so she could get at eye level with the younger woren. "Have ya been good?"

Cherise nodded vigorously. "Uh huh... I have, Diane! It's great to see you again!"

Chris smiled as he watched his little sister and his girlfriend talk and play together. They really do get along... hey... so far, she's batting a thousand with my family...

"Dinner's ready!" A female voice said from the dining room. The two teens and the little girl made their way into the room and noticed Chris's father setting the table.

Amy Fallon brought the roast into the dining room and placed it onto the dining table. The female woren had long brown hair that was done up in an intricate braid. Mrs. Fallon had deep orange fur that was the same shade as both her children's, as well as black stripes. Like Chris, she had piercing blue eyes that could delve into a person and figure out what they are really like.

"So..." Mrs. Fallon started as she turned to look at Diane. "You're the Diane that Chris is always talking about."

"Yes ma'am... Diane Brandshire... A pleasure ta meet ya'll..." Diane's tail began to twitch nervously again.

Mrs. Fallon smiled at Diane. "You don't have to be nervous, Diane..."

"Heh... who said anythin' about me bein' nervous?" The woren said with a chuckle.

"Your tail, for starters. Ladon... it's twitching back and forth!" Mrs. Fallon held back a chuckle.

"Heh..." Diane said with a sheepish grin. "Sorry 'bout that..."

"You don't have to be... Now come on. Dinners getting cold..." Mrs. Fallon smiled and began to dish out portions.

All in all, dinner went over pretty well. Diane got along with Chris's family, and Chris family was fond of his girlfriend. Afterward, both Diane and Chris went out into the garden to stargaze and relax.
