Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Alex gazed out into the darkness from where he was standing on the front porch of his house. He let out a sigh, "Such a beautiful night... Wish I had Ellie out here with me." The woren's tail waved lightly. "We could go for a walk or something..." He scratched his head and with a shrug stepped off the front porch and began walking away from his house.

Ellie... Alex began to think to himself. Back in Lunarvale, Ellie I thought I had lost you back then... Alex wasn't sure why, but lately he had begun to think about back when Tiny had shot Ellen during their trip back to Lunarvale. When I went insane, I berserked because I thought I had lost you... But as it had turned out, Ellen had been just fine, aside from a little bruised up. Unfortunatily, Alex hadn't known that. And because of that... because I had berserked like that, well... I almost lost you for real when... Alex paused in his walking, her ears flicking uneasily as he remembered Diane and the others telling him about how he had chased his friends when he had been a were tiger. Thank Landon you all had made it away from me though...

Alex sighed and looked around. That was one huge perk about living in a town outside of Windia. If you wanted to get away from everything, just walk for a few minutes and bam, you were out in the woods away from everything. The woren rubbed his arm lightly, dispite the warm fur that he was covered in, a bit of the night time coldness was still bothering him. Leaning up against a nearby tree, his tail waves slowly back and forth as the woren continued his train of thought.

"I never want that to happen again..." Alex shook his head and sighed. "If I ever lose control like that again... I just wish there was some way I could stop myself..." Alex sighed and looked around. Light from the moon was filtering through the tree tops and with the help of his cat-like eye sight the woren had no trouble making out the details of the forest around him. Alex sighed and closed his eyes listening to the silence around him.

Maybe there is a way.

His ears batted lightly as he considered the thought. Maybe there is a way I can keep from losing control... It only made sense. When a magic user was learning to use their magic, the more they practiced the easier it became for them. Maybe if I use my weretiger more, maybe I'll learn to gain control over it... Alex's tail flicked lightly as he considered the idea. But it's too dangerous.. where am I going to use my weretiger and make sure no one's going to get hurt? He sighed again and closed his eyes, thinking for a moment.

A light wind kicked up, ruffling the worens fur, and he opened his eyes and glanced out into the forest. "There's no one around here for miles... atleast there shouldn't be. It's too late, and it's not like anyone is going to be walking around in the woods at night..." Alex scratched his head and considered the idea. "Yea... why not? I'll try it... and hopefully if it works, hopefully, Ellie, I'll never have to put you through that again..." With a light wave from his tail, Alex pushed himself from the tree and closed his eyes. Berserk... think angering thoughts... dang I wish there was an easier way to do this... Alex's ears lay back in concentration and his tail lashed a bit as he began trying to force himself to berserk. It took a few moments, but finally Alex felt the unmistakable feeling of his transformation beginning. He let out a startled gasp as his body began to change. His fangs enlarged, his claws began to grow, every inch of him felt like it was being pulled apart as the transformation took place. Alex fell to his hands and knees, wincing from the pain as he gritted his teeth. It didn't feel like this the last time... Finally an overwhelming feeling of rage flooded his senses, and with the savage cry of a wild cat, Alex finished his transformation and the great red weretiger stalked off into the night.
