Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Amber was the first to notice as the silver winged windian approached. She turned to her friend, trying to get her attention, but Sabs was just off in her own little world, dancing away to the song as the Blazing Dragons played. It wasn't until the band finally stopped that Amber was able to reach the human, and she immediatly turned her attention towards the approaching Billy West. Sabs' eyes went wide.

"Quick! Look like you don't notice!" Sabs gave Amber a hard nudge and the two girls immediatly looked up at the stage, adding their cheer to the noise of the rest of the crowd as Frank and his band made his way off the stage. Behind them, Billy was making his way through a small crowd.

"S'cuse me miss, sorry sir, ma'am. Lemme just slip by ya'll a sec.." he finally made his way over to where the two girls were, stopping to adjust his hat a moment, silver wings twitching as he cleared his throat to try and get some attention. "S'cuse me, miss?"

Amber was the first to look over at Billy, tiny wings puffing as she turned, giving an embarressed little smile. "Yes?"

"Ah, I'm sorry miss, I was tryin' ta get her attention." Billy motioned to Sabs with a nod of his head before trying again. "Ma'am?"

Sabs of course, heard every word. She casually turned to look at, flashing Amber an apologetic look as she did before giving the cowboy windian a casual smile. "Yes?"

In the background, Lucy's song was starting up. A nice, slow, quiet song. Billy tipped his hat at Sabs, wings twitching lightly as he did. "I was wonderin' if ya'd like ta share this next dance?"

She didn't look it, but Sabs was about ready to jump up and scream happily. It was all the human could do to keep the casual look on her face as she smiled and accepted Billy's proposal. "Sure. I'd love to!" Once again, she gave her friend the most apologetic look she could muster, one that said to Amber 'I'm sorry, I really didn't expect this to happen' as the couple walked off to another part of the dance floor and began dancing together. Amber just sighed, white puffy wings fluffing lightly as she watched them go. She couldn't help it, she felt dissappointed, and almost betrayed. But then again, Sabs wasn't expecting him to ask her to dance, so she really couldn't blame her friend.

The windian suddenly felt out of place on the dance floor. Around her, couples were dancing to the slow song that was being played, while Amber just stood, looking disappointed and alone. Slowly, she turned and began to shuffle off of the dance floor.

Tym was still standing by the refreshment table, but currently she was scanning across the crowd. She didn't really notice Brad and Cynthia approaching until she turned to refill her punch cup. As she did, her gaze instantly met that of the student standing right by her. It wasn't enough that both of them were reaching for the punch ladle to fill their cups at the same time, or the fact that they each found themselves in the same reaching position, and then each found themselves turning to look at the other at the same time, no, that wasn't what was strange about the situation at all. What was strange was the fact that they were each every the exact same outfit. Cynthia happed to walk up to see Brad and Tym, both caught in their frozen staring contest. The wolf girl's tail wagged curiously as she looked from her friend over to the student he was looking at, whom she couldn't help but feel looked a little familiar. She just couldn't quite place where she'd seen her before right now. Cynthia was about to say something to try and break their stillness, when instantly the two students moved.

No words were exchanged. It was just one of those moments when each of them understood, human and forestclan alike. In perfect unision, Brad and Tym straightened up, pulled out their sunglasses, flipped them open, and put them on, then proceeded to cross their arms and stand shoulder to shoulder infront of the punch bowl like two agents. A few other students were walking up to get a drink, but they immediatly stopped when they saw the uniform figures standing like sentinels. In a harmony that couldn't have been rehearsed, both Brad and Tym slowly turned their heads to look at the students that had just walked up. The small cluster of students exchanged somewhat bewildered looks, and then immediatly decided that they were no longer thirsty as they turned and left. Brad and Tym looked at each other, nodded, then went back to guarding the punch bowl. Cynthia was doing all that she could to keep from suddenly bursting out into laughter.

Under her shades, Tym's eyes were scanning the crowd of students for the location of her friends. She couldn't help it, the protective wolf girl just liked keeping tab on her 'dates,' making sure they were alright for the night. She spotted Sabs and Billy dancing, and almost found herself feeling a bit jealous. After all, Sabs had gone to the dance with her, and now she was dancing with someone else! Not like that really matters. Tym chuckled to herself internally. She was glad to see her friend was enjoying herself. Then of course, she caught sight of Amber.

Tym removed her sunglasses and slipped them into her breastpocket, turning silently to Brad. Brad met her gaze, and Tym's only message was a nod out to the crowd, and then a motion to the punch bowl. Brad nodded in understanding as Tym headed off to meet up with Amber, and the Persona User returned to his watchful guard over the punch bowl. Cynthia looked from him to the retreating wolf girl, and then back to Brad curiously.

"What was that about?"

Brad just turned and gave stared at her through those dark sunglasses of his, before turning his head back and pretending to utter into an ear piece. Cynthia just shook her head and got some punch before heading back over to where more of her friends were standing around, talking.
