Life at Windian High (Part 2)

As the band was proposing ideal couples for the winners of the dance contest, out in the audience, students were catching their breath. The average person would be greatly tired out after taking part in such a strenuous activity such as that dance contenst. In fact, many couples couldn't keep up and were forced to drop out or have their legs collapse under them.

However, the average person was not Sabs Morgan.

Sabs Morgan, to say the least, was born to dance. Her passion was moving to the beat, her life revolved in music, dance, and color. While the rest of Windiain High, save for those who'd simply stayed out of the dance so that they could make fun of all of the other students for wearing themselves out so horribly for the rest of the night, much like Tym did, were panting and attempting to catch their breath, Sabs was just slightly winded but comfortable enough to sip a cup of punch and carry on a conversation with the newest thing to catch her attention, a silver-winged windian known as Billy West who did not seem quite as used to the laboring workout as the red-haired human was. In fact, he was faning himself just slightly with his hat, his face slightly red from the heat of the room. Sabs noted this with a giggle.

"Are you alright?"

"Yea, I'm fine." He nodded at her with a grin before dropping his hat back ontop of his platinum-haired head. "Say um...." he reached over, pouring himself a glass of punch and taking a sip before looking at his dance partner. "Say... I was wondering..." He never got further then that. The next instant Cynthia appeared before them, weaving through the crowd of students as she zoned in on the two, tail wagging behind her as she lolled her tongue out in a grin.

"Hey you two," the forestclan girl yipped lightly. "Sorry to interrupt but I was wondering if I could get your names please?" The two dancers exchanged glances.

Sabs just shrugged her shoulders as she turned to Cynthia. "Well, alright. I'm Sabs Morgan."

"And I'm Billy." He nodded at Cynthia, tipping his hat slightly. "Billy West."

"Great!" Cynthia's tail bobbed back and forth happily. "Thanks guys! And congrats!" And with that, the chocolate colored wolf vanished back into the crowd of students. Once again, Billy and Sabs exchanged curious gazes.

"Now wha' d'you suppose that was about?" The windian's wings twitched lightly. Sabs just shrugged and took another drink from her punch glass.

"I don't know... so what were you about to say?"

"Ah, that." His silver wings fluttered with slight nervousness. "Well.. ya see.. I was sorta wonderin'... if maybe... you'd like to go out.. to dinner sometime?"

Sabs was about to answer when once again the two were interrupted by the voice of Cynthia, only this time it was from the stage. As the microphone crackled to life, heads all throughout the crowd turned to see what the announcer had to say.

"May I have your attention please?" The wolf's tail wagged as she waited a few seconds. "We've come to a decision, and we'd like to annoyance that the winners of the contest are none other then your fellow students, Billy West and Sabs Morgan!" Some cheers and clapping sounded from the crowd, friends of the named dancers. Cynthia flashed an amused grin before speaking again. "Congrats, guys! You've just won a free dinner at The Tiger's Catch!"

Sabs just continued to face the stage for a moment as everything that just happened slowly sunk in. She'd just been asked out by one of the cutest guys in the school, and on top of that she'd just won a free dinner through a dancing contest. Surely enough, the two items added together in her mind and she just turned to Billy, chuckling to herself. "Dinner? Why sure! The Tiger's Catch sound good to you?"

"Right." Billy gave a laugh. "I guess it's on the house."
