Life at Windian High (Part 2)

"YAH!" Kate just managed to tumble out of the way of Tellka's swing. Immediatly she hopped up onto her feet, and brought her hands up, swaying lightly in her fighting stance. It was after school, and Kate had remembered, or rather had been reminded of, the deal she had made with Tellka. Dressing out of her uniform and putting on the outfit that Tellka had bought her a while back, as well as equipping herself with her claws, Kate was now busy practicing with Tellka in one of the sparring rooms of the Coloseum. Tellka swirrled her staff lightly and fell into her own fighting stance as she began to circle around Kate.

"So, how was your day?" She charged and leapt into the air, bringing her staff down in a swing at Kate. With a yelp, the younger woren managed to duck and roll away, hopping up again and taking a few quick swings at Tellka with her clawed hands. The warrior simply leaned back to avoid them and chuckled. "You know how to kick, try kicking more often."

Kate nodded as she backed away from Tellka, putting some distance between her and the fighter. "I forgot to tell you, yesterday at school I saw Ray again."

"Ray?" Tellka's ears batted lightly as she began to circle the younger woren once again. "That's right, the dragon."

"Yea. He, Janet, Lucy, her brother and someone else," Kate's tail flicked and she paused for a second to think. "I think Jason, yea, those five have been gone for like... weeks. It was weird because Frank was talking about how he had seen Ray and then suddenly he just came walking up to the table, and we were all surprised."

"So where's he been anyway?" Tellka charge once more, sweeping at Kate with her staff. The younger woren pulled off a backflip to move herself out of the way and Tellka grinned. "You're getting a lot better at that."

"Thanks." Kate steadied herself on her feet. "Myah, Ray said he had gone on a trip with Lucy and her brother. Then before they came back Brandon was called out to the field with his dad so he's not back yet. YAH!" Once again the woren took a tumble to the side to avoid a sweep from Tellka.

"Work on more then just your dodges." Tellka brought her staff up to block a roundhouse kick from Kate. "That's better. You know, you really are getting better at this, Kate."

"Gym class has helped I guess." The woren's tail flicked a bit and she hopped back again to put space between her and Tellka. "You should have seen Alex today. He looked dead tired. Said he couldn't sleep at all last night. ACK!" A blow from Tellka's staff caught Kate in her chestplate and sent the woren tumbling to the sandy ground. She just layed on her back for a bit, groaning.

"Kate? You okay?" Tellka stepped over her and gazed down.

"I'm fine..... sore.... fine.... ouch..."

Tellka chuckled as she helped her up into a standing position. "Come on, you still owe me more time. We made a deal you know." Tellka smirked. "Hope it was worth it."

Kate just groaned in reply and stood up, rubbing her stomach. Tellka gave her a few minutes to recover before they began to spar again.
