Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Fifth day we've been home, third day back in school, sixteenth day I've been without having Brandon around. Lucy sighed to herself. She had been keeping these mental counts for a while now. Lucy was sifting her way through the crowded cafeteria looking for Janet once more. She had left Ray as he was heading over to sit with Frank and his friends and had told him that she may meet up with him over at the table. Janet, you're stubborn, but so am I. Lucy was broken from her thoughts as she felt a tap on her shoulder, and she turned to see who it was. "Candice?" She raised her eyebrows curiously.

Candice had her arms crossed and was considering Lucy with a slightly amused smirk. "Going to go talk to your dear friend again? Something tells me that you're not too happy with her right now."

"None of your business, Candice." Lucy's eyes and tone of voice had slipped back into their emotionless tone.

"I think it is my business." Candice raised her eyebrows and gave Lucy a challenging, yet humored look. "After all, I've been hanging around Janet lately. Think I can't tell that something's bothering her? Tell me, did you two get into a fight?" Candice flashed Lucy a grin and the raven-haired windian's eyes darkened in annoyance.

"Why don't you go find some more boys to torture, Candice? I just want to go talk to my friend."

"Oh really?" Candice smirked. "I suppose you want to try and cloud her mind with all that pro-dragon crap you believe in, huh?"

Lucy didn't say anything in reply. She simply gave Candice a glare, turned, and promptly began heading away to find Ray and the others. She could hear Candice chuckling behind her as she left. If I was ever going to give someone the title 'Bitch,' Lucy thought sourly to herself, I'd give it to Candice.

Kate glanced up from her milk, her tail waving. "Hey, it's Lucy!"

Frank looked over in the direction his girlfriend was watching. "So it is." He smiled and waved. "Hey Lucy, finally come to join us?"

Nate glanced up with a scowl on his face as he saw the windian approaching. Immediatly he adjusted his scarf which read '#1' and gave her a suspicious look. "What do you want? We don't need any of you harassing us."

"Nate, grow up! She's just here to sit with her boyfriend. Hi Lucy." Yuki smiled at the windian as she approached. Lucy returned a weak smile to her.

"Hey," Ray looked at Lucy, studying her face for a moment. "Something wrong?"

She sighed and rubbed her head. "Yes, Candice. That's what's wrong."

"What'd she do this time."

Lucy groaned quietly before looking at Ray. "She just..." suddenly she paused and looked over at Yuki, an expression on her face as if she had just realized the japanese Persona User was sitting there. "Yuki... you're Janet's friend, right?"

"Hrm?" The teenager glanced up from her meal. "Yea, I met her a while ago, why?"

Lucy made her way over to where the Persona User as sitting and motioned with her finger for Yuki to follow her. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Sure." Yuki got up and followed the windian over to a more private area of the cafeteria courtyard. Lucy chewed her lip and brushed a few strands of hair behind her ear before starting.

"I need some help with Janet, and she may listen to you. See," Lucy sighed for a moment, trying to figure out where to start. "There's this group, it's called the WINGS. I used to be a part of it... I left though, but Janet..." Lucy shook her head. "She needs to get out of that group. It's no place for her to be, the people in it are a bad influence on her, but I can't seem to convince her that." Lucy let out another sigh. "I've been trying to convince her, but it's like she's not taking me seriously. She'll listen to what I say, and then just blow it off like it's nothing. I'm really worried about her, she shouldn't be hanging around with that group anymore but I can't seem to get her to listen to me. I thought since you're her friend too..." Lucy paused as she looked at the japanese teenager, startled at the sudden change of expressions on Yuki's face. The Persona User's cheerful expression that Lucy had seen just a few seconds ago was suddenly serious and considerate. "I thought," Lucy once again attempted to get her request out to the Persona User, "since you're her friend too, maybe if you go talk to her she may listen to you. Or atleast you could give her something to seriously think about." Lucy sighed. "I was trying to go talk to her today, but one of the WINGS members," she shook her head, "spotted me and started giving me a hard time about it. The WINGS don't know who you are though, you can just go up and talk to Janet without them bothering you. Yuki, please, will you go do this?"

Yuki nodded. "You don't have to ask me twice." Lucy smiled at her, this one a bit stronger then the first smile she had given the Persona User.

"Thanks. She's sitting over there." Lucy pointed out the table that the WINGS crew was sitting at, and with a nod Yuki headed off in that direction. Lucy sighed as she watched her go. Janet, I wish it didn't have to take this much to make you see... Reluctantly the raven-haired windian made her way back to where Ray and the others were sitting.
