Life at Windian High (Part 2)

"Ellen..." Mrs. Chiba told her adopted daughter.

Ellen looked up from where she was working and saw her adopted mother.

"Yes mom?" Ellen asked as she smoothed out her work uniform.

"Could you head to the local florist and place an order for me? I wanted some new flowers for the tables in the dining room." Mrs. Chiba asked as her tail waved.

"Sure thing mom!" Ellen replied before arranging some glasses on a shelf.

"Oh, thank you Ellen... you're a life saver... I'd ask Ryan, but he's busy cooking... Here's the list and some zenny." Lorenda Chiba produced a bank bag with some zenny in it and a list of flowers.

The Persona User checked the list over. "Lillies... and some bamboo plants... Okay. I'll be back soon mom."

Ellen left the restaurant and walked down the street. She smiled as she saw a few kids playing together on the sidewalk. Eventually, she made it to the florist and entered the store.

"Hello! Welcome to Rose's Floral Selection... may I help you?" A clerk asked the Persona User.

"Yes, actually. I've got a big order... See, I work in the Tiger's Catch, and I need these..." Ellen handed the list over to the clerk, who looked it over.

"We've got all of these. Just wait here, and I'll have someone prepare it for you. Do you need us to deliver?" The clerk asked.

"Please do." Ellen answered.

"All right. I'll be back with your bill... wait here." The clerk told her before going to the back room.

********************************

Before I head to the Tiger's Catch... I think I'll get something for Ellie...

Alex Brandshire checked his pockets to see how much money he had on himself. Unfortunately, he only had enough money to cover his meal.

Great... and I wanted to get Ellen something... wait... I'm outside a florist... I'm sure... yeah... they wouldn't miss one bouquet of flowers...

Alex grinned to himself and entered the store. He noticed that only one customer was there, and that the clerk was nowhere to be found.

This should be easy... Wait... why does that customer look familiar?

The woren wandered over to a set of flower arrangements and began to look them over, his tail waving slowly.

Ellen will love this one! Not the Cherry Blossoms she so loves... but just as beautiful.

The clerk emerged from the back room holding a bill. "Okay miss... The flowers should be delivered within the hour... And here is what you owe us."

Ellen looked the bill over and counted out the appropriate amount of zenny.

"Thank you for shopping with us! We hope to do business with you again!" The clerk said happily.

Ellen turned and saw Alex at a display. He didn't see her though.

Odd... what's Alex doing here? Maybe I should surprise him...

The Persona User began to walk toward her boyfriend. She stopped, however, when she saw him grab a bouquet of flowers and hide it.

No way... he did not... Oh yes he did...

Ellen Johnson was now getting angry. She stomped over to Alex, with a death glare on her face.

"ALEX BRANDSHIRE..." Ellen said angrily.

The woren nearly jumped out of his fur. He turned slowly and noticed Ellen, with a look that could rival some of the ones his sister usually gives.

"Um... hi, love! I was just..."

"Don't 'love' me! Put them back! I saw you do that!" The Persona User growled out with a look of fire in her eyes.

Alex sweatdropped. He had never seen Ellen this mad before. Reluctantly, he placed the flowers back. Ellen reached up, grabbed Alex by the ear, and began to drag him out.

"OUCH! Hey! That hurts!!!" Alex said as he stumbled behind Ellen, his tail waving in confusion.

Once outside, Ellen pulled him between two stores and finally let go.

"What did..." Alex started.

"Don't even start with me, Alex." Ellen said angrily. "I saw you trying to take those flowers!"

"But... I was just... getting something for you..." Alex replied to his girlfriend.

"For me?! STEALING flowers??? Oh, that is rich. I can't believe you! Don't you know what you're doing is against the law?!" The Persona User said hotly.

"But I'm not hurting anyone!" Alex said in defense.

Ellen shook her head. "You're hurting the business! Oh, forget it! You don't understand..."

Ellen Johnson was more than steamed. She began to walk back toward the restaurant.

"ELLEN! Can I see you later?" Alex yelled after her.

The Persona User stopped and turned. "Don't even think about coming to see me, you criminal!" Ellen managed to say that in the coldest tone possible, before leaving again.

Alex Brandshire stood there, scratching his head in confusion. "What'd I do???"
