Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Nate Trinity walked into Angelic Relics. Angelic Relics was the store that his father/guardian owned in Windia.

"Hello Nate!" Thomas Leslie said with a smile. Thomas is Nate's guardian and the owner of the store. He treats Nate like the son he never had.

"Hi dad..." Nate said with sort of a smile. The Persona User still had trouble saying the "d" word, because of his past family troubles back in Lunarvale. "So... what do we do today?"

"We need to finish cataloguing the relics from the second destined cycle, Nate... Oh.. before we do that..." Thomas replied as he reached under the front counter.

"Hmm?" Nate said as he leaned out of the stock room. He had just put his backpack up before answering his guardian.

"This came in the mail for you, son... from Coursair... no name though..." The bearded Windian said as he examined the envelope.

"Coursair???" Nate said in genuine curiosity. "I don't know anyone in Coursair..." The Persona User adjusted his scarf before he took the letter. Nate leaned against a stationary set of armor and opened it. He took the letter from inside the envelope and scanned it.

If one was to look at Nate, his face went from somewhat happy, to sad, then to cold, and finally to sub-zero as he read the letter. By the time he was finished, he was visibly shaking. Something in the letter had disturbed him greatly.

"Nate... What's wrong? Are you okay???" Thomas Leslie asked his adopted son.

"Thomas... I need to be alone... May I?" Nate said in a neutral tone.

"Um... of course... Just come back soon, okay?" The Windian said as he stretched his gray wings.

Nate nodded before heading out of the store and toward Windia Park. Once there, he took the letter out and read over it again.

Krystal... you moved... and you didn't tell me... Pursue your dreams... I gave you the courage to pursue your dreams...

Nate looked at the fountain again, and let his mask of coldness and superiority overcome him again.

God damn... it's like everything is against me... First my real family, if you could even call them people... then the SEBEC scandal... now this... I am so fucking tired of being screwed over by fate!!!

"WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?!?!" Nate yelled at the sky, while simultaneously drawing a lot of attention to himself.

Kate was walking by the park and over to the coliseum when she heard Nate's cry of despair. Curious, the woren went to investigate and saw Nate kind of sobbing and laughing at the same time.

"Nate???" The woren said tentatively as she approached the Persona User.

How in God's name can a person like me inspire people to go after their dreams? HUH?! Wait... who's that...

"Nate, what's wrong?" The woren asked in genuine sympathy.

Nate looked at Kate and gave her the coldest look that he could muster. "Leave me alone..."

"Huh? Nate?" Kate asked, her tail waving in worry.

"I said leave me alone!!!" Nate growled at the woren. "What don't you understand???"

"... Nate?" Kate said in confusion before just finally deciding to leave the Persona User alone.

Nate shook his head. He put the letter into his pocket and got up from where he was sitting. He was seething... and he needed to blow off some steam. Absently, he punched a nearby tree as hard as he could, and ended up breaking his hand, as well as leaving a blood stain on the tree. He summoned Lovers:Pixie in silence to heal his injured hand, before leaving the park with an aura of pure coldness.
