Life at Windian High (Part 2)

A Persona User was walking through Windia Park, whistling a tune to himself. If one was to look closely, he was ready to go fishing.

"It's nice out today!!!" Frank said to himself. "Too bad Neko-Chan didn't want to come along..." The Persona User chuckled as he remembered the sleepy Nekomata. However, he promised her that he'd catch a big fish just for her.

"The lake in the park... Rumor around school said that there are some fish worth catching there... That's right... the picture Chris showed me... Then it is true!" Frank said with a smile.

Frank walked through the park happily. As he strolled through, he noticed Ray sitting at a bench, looking depressed.

"Ray?" Frank said tentatively. Some of his friends had been missing for a couple of weeks, and seeing Ray in the park, was a shock to him.

"Huh?" The Light Dragon said as he looked around. Immediately, he spotted Frank, who was grinning.

"It is you..." The Persona User said as he approached his friend. "Jesus, Ray! Where on earth have you been? It's been two weeks, and no one had seen you, Lucy, Janet, Brandon or Jason!"

"We were on a trip, Frank... And Brandon... he's been given another assignment out of Windia." Ray said to the Persona User. "Wait... Ur... Urth? What's earth?"

Frank raised an eyebrow at Ray when he mentioned where they were. The Persona User sensed something when Ray flinched a little at Brandon's name, but he couldn't place what was wrong. The second question hit Frank, and he just grinned.

"Besides an element? Remember... I'm not from here... Earth is the name of the planet Lunarvale is on... Come to think of it, I've been here for an awful long time now, and I still don't know the name of this planet..." Frank said before scratching his head.

Ray just chuckled. "You mean to tell me... that you've been living here for awhile now, and you don't know? Frank...it's Torana... that's the name..."

"Torana..." Frank said as he rolled the name off his tongue. "Nice name..." Frank then remembered what he was in the park to do. "Anyway... I'm going fishing, Ray... You look kinda depressed, so I think that it's my duty as your friend to cheer you up. You're going fishing with me."

Ray sweatdropped. "Um... Frank... I don't think..."

"I'm not taking no for an answer, Ray." Frank said as he crossed his arms.

"Okay, okay..." The Light Dragon said with a laugh. "I'll go with you... Um... let me go home and get my gear first. I'll meet you at the lake."

"Fair enough..." Frank said with a chuckle. "I'll see you there!"

Unfortunately, Frank Maynard didn't know what he was getting himself into.

Eventually, Frank made it to the lake. Soon after, Ray approached him, carrying his fishing rod and a tackle box.

"Got everything you need?" Frank asked as he loaded his gear into the rowboat.

"Yeah... I do... I've been fishing out here before..." Ray replied.

"Really???" Frank said with interest. "Chris and Diane were out here before... Anything worth catching?"

Ray rubbed the back of his head before stepping into the boat. "Um... honestly? I don't remember..."

Frank got into the boat and readied the oars. "Well then... we're about to find out." The Persona User began to row toward the middle of the lake.

Once in the center of the lake, Frank and Ray cast their lines. Soon after, Frank reeled in a black bass. Ray however...

"Um..." Ray drew his line in, and it was attached to a boot.

"It's okay, man... I'm sure you'll catch something soon..." Frank said with a chuckle.

Both of them continued to fish for a few more hours. Frank had a bounty of fish beside him, while Ray...

"Dude!!!" Frank said in shock. "Just how many boots have you caught???"

Ray blushed. He had a huge pile of mis-matched boots, and a couple of black bass beside him. "Well... if they all matched, I could open my own store..."

"Just keep trying, okay?" Frank said as he set his rod down and stretched.

Ray cast his line once again. This time, it was followed by a loud splash.

The line on the Light Dragon's fishing rod became tight. Ray was struggling against it.

"Frank! I caught a big one! Hurry! Help me!" No one answered. Ray continued to reel in his catch. However, he was in for a big surprise.

"This is the biggest fish... Huh?" To his surprise, Frank broke the water's surface.

"How do you do it..." Frank muttered. "Help me into the boat..."

"Frank? How..." Ray helped the Persona User back in.

"You hooked me by my shoe!" Frank replied as he pointed to his feet. Sure enough, there was a hook and lure attached to the back of his right sneaker.

"Um... sorry about that..." Ray said with a sheepish grin.

Frank removed the hook from his shoe. "Don't worry about it. Just remind me, next time I go fishing with you, to wear a pair of sandals..."

Ray laughed. "Okay... I'll be sure to do that..."

"Let's call it a day man... I need to go home and change... some friends are coming to visit..." Frank said before shaking the water out of his hair.

"Watch it!" Ray said before splashing his friend with more water.

"Hey..." Frank said with a chuckle. "That was uncalled for..."

The Light Dragon laughed as he began to row back toward the shore.
