Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Britney was curled up in her bed, snoring lightly. She had Phen in her arms, cuddling the small demon like he was a teddy bear. Phen was also asleep, little tuffs of cold air could be seen puffing out of his mouth as he breathed quietly. Ray was watching the two sleep silently before making his way out of his sister's room, closing the door carefully behind him. From downstairs he could see the flicker of a lamp light from where Jason was lying awake on the couch. Ray stood at the top of the stairs, listening to the silence of the house before making his way into his own room. On his dresser near his bed, Ray too had his own little lamp clicked on. It was his own version of a night-light that he had been using ever since returning home. With a sigh, Ray stepped over to his window and looked out at the cold, starry sky that hung over Windia.

Ray wasn't the only one watching the stars in the night. After Frank and Kate had left for their little star gazing episode in the park, Tellka too had headed for her own walk, making her way to the woods that lined just outside of Windia. The woren warrior was stretched out in the high branches of a tree, watching the night sky as her tail waved slowly. A slight breeze of cold air whisked by her, and the woren looked up to see a star streaking across the sky. Closing her eyes, the warrior said a silent prayer of memories lost and times to come, and then turned her mind's eye towards thoughts of her past life.

Not too far from the woods, Alex was awake in his bed, running over and over again what he was going to do. Tomorrow, the tired woren thought to himself, I'll catch her tomorrow at work... talk to her... Ellie, Landon's sake, you can't really be mad at me that long, can you? With a fanged yawn, Alex rolled over in his bed and closed his eyes, listening to his sister snore on the bunk below him.

Back in Windia, in a large white house located in Upper Windia, a little pink bird fluttered its feathers and sang a sweet night time melody as its mistress slept quietly in her bed. Janet's dreams flowed pleasently with those of Angels and birds as the candle she had set out for the night flickered and danced to itself, casting away the darkness of the room. P-chan fluttered its wings again before a breeze that pulled gently outside the window finally silenced the bird and it drifted off to sleep on its perch.

Lucy too had a candle lit. It was sitting next to her as the windian stared out at the inky blackness of the night sky. She was thinking of her brother. He's up there, isn't he? He's up there watching over me, he always said he'd look out for me. Lucy sighed and brushed a few strands of her dark hair from her face. She was wearing her dark blue night-gown, the one that fell down to her ankles. I know that thought should be enough to make me happy, but it's not... Lucy turned from the window and walked over to her dresser. On top of it sat a photo of the Conwing family. Picking up the picture, Lucy stepped back over to the window and looked down at her brother's photo before turning her gaze to the night sky. "I don't know why I cry, even when I know you're watching over me. I guess my heart is blinded by my eyes... they only wish to see your smiling face again..."

And the moon and stars shone brightly over Windia, and the world of Torana fell silent in awe of the night in all its splendor of dreams and nightmares, of wishes and memories, of life and death.
