Life at Windian High (Part 2)

"Alright, so..." Chad was tossing around a few rocks in his hands as he thought outloud. "The objective... get Jason back. Any ideas?" The windian twitched his brown wings as he looked over to David who was walking next to him. David just shook his head.

"I dunno, man. Jason seemed so weird when we saw him... I don't think this is going to be that easy."

"Well it's not like we can just give up withought a fight." Chad sighed as he tossed one of the pebbles he had been juggling and watched it skip across the grounding, palming the other five little rocks that he was still holding. "Candi's right. I mean, it's not like we haven't really been trying to get our friend back..."

"Candi thinks we need to get a dragon involved in order for Jason to notice us again." David looked uneasily at his friend. "I don't know, but something makes me think that maybe Candi's gone a bit psycho lately. You know? Ever since Jason and Brandon and Janet and Lucy left, and she started hanging all over Justin? Now Janet's back and it's like she's honestly trying to cause trouble or something!"

Chad shrugged. "Look, I honestly don't care about what Candi's trying to do by messing around with Justin. I'm just thinking right now about how the heck we're supposed to get Jason back, alright? Dude..." Chad waved a finger infront of David's face. "Focus on the objective..."

David shoved his hands into his pockets as the two windians continued to walk through the park. "I've got a bad feeling about this, Chad."

"We don't even know what we're going to do." Chad sighed as he flipped the pebbles in his hand. "Dude, you can't go and become all skeptical and pessemistic until you know what you're going to be all skeptical and pessemistic about."

"It's just that I can't shake this feeling that... I dunno, that there's like, a little storm cloud following us around, just waiting to open up and rain down on us sometime. Can't you feel it?" David's comment was immediately answered by a loud *sploosh* and suddenly the windian was soaking wet. Chad stopped suddenly, his eyes going wide as he stared at his drenched friend and immediately busted up laughing.

"DUDE! I can't feel it, but I guess you sure can!" The windian continued to laugh uncontrollably as David looked at him with a glare. He was about to say something when another *sploosh* caught him off guard and suddenly Chad was drenched as well.

"Well." David grinned at his dripping friend. "Now do you feel it?"

Chad glared at him for a moment before the two windians smirked and immediately began laughing again. They were interrupted once more by another *sploosh* that managed to splash both of the teens. Chad looked down to see fragments of the blue water balloon strewn across the ground, while David began looking up at towards the sky. "Man, where is that coming from?"

Unwittingly, the two windians had managed to walk under the very bridge that one Alyson Van Horne was stationed on top of. Crouched beside her vast array of water balloon arsenal, the woren had her hand up over her mouth as she did her best to bite back her laughter. Carefully, she peeked over the edge of the bridge and gazed down at the two confused windians below her. Chad and David had once again turned to each other as they talked in wonder about their sudden state of dampness. Picking up another balloon, Alyson took careful aim.

*SPLOOSH*

Chad smacked his forehead as once again he fell victim to the attack from above. This time, however, David looked up just barely quick enough to catch sight of a pair of white hands disappearing behind the small wall of the bridge. The windian's mind clicked as suddenly he realized just what was happening, and he tapped Chad on the shoulder.

"Dude... make yourself a really good target because I have an idea." David motioned with a quick jab of his finger to the bridge above them and Chad let out an 'aaaah...' as suddenly he realized where the attacks were coming from. With a nod to his friend, Chad took a few steps back to get a good look at the bridge and flipped the small pebbles that he was holding in his hand. David hurridly made his way over to one of the ends of the bridge.

With a smirk, Chad took careful aim and sent one of the small rocks flying through the air. Alyson's ears flicked lightly as she heard the whistling of something whizzing over her head and turned to see the pebble go straight over the bridge. The woren shook her head and tsked quietly to herself. "You were way off with that one, bird." Alyson smirked as once again she peeked over the bridge, noting where Chad had now positioned himself. She took a hold of one of the her water balloons and prepared herself to launch it.

*SPLOOSH*

This time the balloon didn't even get a chance to leave her hand as it exploded from the contact of Chad's pebble hitting it. Alyson blinked in surprise and shook herself the knock the water from her fur. "Oh... that's it!" With a grin she jumped up, more water balloons ready and the battle between her and Chad started. Alyson with her water balloon arsenal, and Chad hurridly picking up pebbles and tossing them at the woren, doing his best to explode the water balloons while they were still in range of the woren, and at the same time attempting to avoid all of the balloons that he didn't manage to hit and that were exploding on the ground around him. One water balloon managed to hit the windian just below his neck and he spat a bit to get a piece of the rubbery scrap of balloon from off his mouth. Immediately he was hit with another balloon that had been aimed carefully at his face and the windian let out a loud sigh. Quickly, he searched the ground for a white piece of balloon and a small twig, spearing the scrap onto the twig and waving it in the air. "I call a truce!"

"I don't think so!" Alyson called back down at the windian as she pegged him with another balloon. Suddenly, the woren halted in her actions. Something wasn't right, and she had just noticed. Wait a minute... weren't their two of them standing down there when I first saw them? It was then that Alyson noticed the large shadow loaming up behind her, and before she could turn around to catch David, the windian attacked.

Chad cringed as he heard the yowl sound up from Alyson's spot on the bridge. Almost immediately he saw David leap down to the ground, landing in a hard crouch before he jumped up and started running. The windian was laughing as he raced up to Chad. "Come on, come on! Let's get out of here!"

"Dude!" Chad shot another glance to the bridge where he could hear Alyson complaining loudly before he took off running after his friend. "What did you do to her? I don't think I've ever heard a woren sound like that before!"

"Yea, I know." David grinned widely. "I bet it must really hurt to get a wedgie when you've got a tail..." The two windians continued to run for as long as they could, which... wasn't very long, seeing as how both of them were laughing too hard to really run effectively. Satisfied that they were far enough from the bridge, the woren, and the water balloons, the two leaned up against a nearby tree and attempted to catch their breath, wiping away the tears that had formed in their eyes from laughing too hard.

"Alright..." after their rest, Chad and David had once again begun their walk through the park. Chad was already juggling a new set of pebbles as he thought outloud. "The objective... get Jason back, and find dry clothes..."

"Uh..." David looked at his friend for a moment. "In which order do you propose we attempt to reach these objectives?"

"Hrm..." Chad stroked his damp goattee in thought. "Good question... alright, new objective.. figure out in what order we wish to complete our objectives..." The two windians chuckled to themselves as they continued on their walk.
