Life at Windian High (Part 2)

It was Monday morning in Windia, meaning that it was the beginning of a new school week. Neko-Chan watched Frank as he skated off toward school, doing various simple tricks on his board. With a sigh, the demoness walked back into the Reverse Edge.

"Meow... I should ask him sometime... No...not after what happened last time... Myah... his school..."

The catgirl wandered back upstairs and went back to her room. She looked out the window for a while and gave one of her little smiles as she saw some birds flying about.

Neko-Chan stretched and gave a light sounding mew when the light from the window glinted off of Frank's journal, which he had left on his desk again.

The nekomata looked at the clasp on the book which was shining in the light.

"SHINY!!! Meow... His memories again... he's always leaving them on his desk... I don't know... Should I? Myah..."

Neko-Chan was curious. And as we all know about cats being curious... The demoness picked up the book and twitched her whiskers slightly. She then walked over to Frank's bed, sat on it, and curled her tails around her. Neko-Chan undid the clasp on the book and opened it to a random entry.

Heh... sorry if my handwriting seems a bit sloppy today... To be honest... this has not been a good day at all. Brad, Yuki, and Alana left for Lunarvale again this morning, but Brad decided to leave me a gift. Heh... Let's just say that my hair is going to be the same shade as a Light Dragon's for about a week.

I should have taken that as an omen... that the day wasn't going to go right. And I was right on that aspect. I came home from school and got ready for my shift. I was uneasy... my Persona sensed something evil... something that wanted Ellie, Nate, and me dead... but I just couldn't place a finger on it.

It was that day that I found out that the Fencing Club was a go. Nate and I were to talk to Mrs. Wireman about it. I left work with Chris Fallon and my girlfriend... They could both sense that something was wrong with me... so did Ray Bendrel, when we met him along the way to the school.

Nate and I were talking to Mrs. Wireman... Ellen... well... we couldn't find her. It surprised us, as well as Mrs. W, when we heard her scream from the courtyard. When we looked out, an old teacher from St. Hermelin had managed to get to Windia... and he was possessed by a high level Persona. Unfortunately, he wanted to use that Persona... to kill us... apparently because we left St. Hermelin...

You've got to understand something about Dean Harding... he hates students with a passion, and will use anything he can to get at one... in fact... he used the fact that my parents were now dead against me... he insulted them, and me, after we had defeated the Snow Queen. I totally lost it... I decked him... Fortunately, my former teachers weren't mad... Someone finally had the guts to stand up to him... Anyway, that led to him being fired, and losing his position at Seven Sisters High School... apparently, he thought I turned the staff against him.

I almost died that day... actually, I was dying twice... The first time, I fell victim to a death spell... luckily, Chris was there to bring me back... The second time, I took a bullet that was meant for Kate... That didn't get me, but the two shots afterward did me in... I was dying... But then, thankfully, Nate had brought me back.

It ended though... There was no way we could save Dean... he finally died at my hands... three bullets from a revolver that Diane had retrieved from the store... It was luck... Jess had managed to finish those Holy Runed bullets... that's the only thing that could harm Dean Harding/Devil:Satan.

We killed him... but only because he tried to kill us... on that day, Chris, Mrs. Wireman, and I were shot by Dean Harding... Ellen, Nate, Diane, and I nearly died that day.

"Meow..." Neko-Chan said quietly. Currently, her eyes were as wide as dinner plates. "So that's what happened that day... why he came home tired, haunted, and shaky... Good thing... meow... that I was there to comfort him..."

I was afraid that day... My friends and I nearly kicked the bucket... and Kate... My God... she nearly got shot... if I didn't take that bullet... it would have killed her... it was heading straight for the back of her head...

We managed to survive... how a person could get as cold as Mr. Harding is beyond my grasp... I came home that day... shaky, disturbed, on edge... Neko-Chan sensed it... and cheered me up. I don't know what would have happened if she wasn't there... I just don't know...

It's getting late now... I need some sleep... Heh... Neko-Chan's purring in her sleep. She's so kawaii... I'm glad that she's my friend... she's like the sister I never had... someone I can protect, and that I can turn to for comfort... Anyway. Good night.

Frank Maynard

Neko-Chan rubbed the page lightly, noting that some of the ink was smeared in splotches.

"Meow... he was crying when he wrote this... Myah... I don't blame him... Frank... meow? I'm... his sister?"

The nekomata stood up and placed the book back on his desk, in the exact same position that it was in earlier. She continued to stare at the book and began to think.

Meow... Frank... All you've been through... Don't worry... Kate's there for you... all of us are... Jess cares about you, and so do your friends, myah...

Neko-Chan slowly walked to her bed, sat down, and began to stare out the window, where she could just see Windia High.

Myah... Frank... don't worry... your little sister is now keeping an eye out for you...
