Life at Windian High (Part 2)

Chad and David had both slipped out of their sixth period classes early. The two windians had a plan that required hurrying out of school before they got caught up in the general crowd of students, so they had agreed to meet each other out infront of their lockers a few minutes before the end of sixth period. David was pacing the hallway as Chad came walking up, the two were wearing new pairs of uniform pants since their original pairs had been 'altered' due to the lunch situation. David unslung his backpack as he saw his friend approaching.

"Nice to see you're out here waiting for me." Chad greeted David with a nod as the windian adjusted the pack on his back. "How'd you get out of class so early anyway?"

David shrugged. "Asked Vagger if I could go get a drink um... about five minutes ago." Chad gave David and curious look and the windian just chuckled. "I'm not sure if the fact that I grabbed my books and backpack before leaving to go get that 'drink' clued him in on me not planning to head back, but I think by now he should have atleast noticed." Chad chuckled.

"Dude, I think he's just gotten tired of dealing with you and your stupid excuses to skip class."

"Maybe." David shrugged. "So anyway, what took you so long?"

Chad shrugged, his wings flexing a bit. "We had a test in Calc. I didn't want to leave until it was finished."

"You stayed for a Calculus test?" David gave his friend a surprised look and Chad shrugged again, chuckling.

"Well yea. Dude, why not?"

"You're weird, Chad, you're very weird..." David grinned at his friend as Chad faked a hurt look.

"Dude, you cut me deep..." Chad sniffed and made a motion as to wipe a tear away. David just chuckled again before grunting and tugging at the waist of his new pair of pants.

"Man, this really kind of sucks... they didn't have any extra pants in my size, so I have to wear these smaller ones." David sucked in his gut and then turned to give Chad a profile view of himself. "Tell me the truth, man. Does this make me look fat?"

Chad just laughed, his wings twitching open and closed as he did. "Dude, but you know, that was a pretty cool prank she pulled!" Chad then paused and stroked his goattee lightly. "Although I did kinda want my apple back..."

"Yea," David grinned and jabbed a finger at his friend. "Man, you should have seen the look on your face when she took that first bite. It was classic!"

"Yea well," Chad rolled his eyes and grinned. "Joke's on her, that was a cafeteria apple anyway."

"Right." David just continued to grin at his friend. "It's the little revenges, huh? Man, we're going to have to think of a way to get her back for that!"

"We are, my friend, we truly are." Chad chuckled as he moved over to where David's and his lockers were located next to each other. Chad paused just before his locker and turned to face his friend. "First thing's first though, we're going to have to go home, drop off our stuff, change, and go take care of our Jason problem."

"Yea..." David's grin fell a bit as the windian popped his knuckles. "So we're really going through with this? Man... I don't know Chad, I really do have this bad feeling..."

"Dude, you always have a bad feeling." Chad's wings twitched a bit. "You really don't need a reason to get a bad feeling about something, do you? I mean, it just kinda happens."

"Well it's not like I'm pessemistic or anything." David rolled his eyes. "It's just that I've got this feeling..."

"Aw c'mon, David, lighten up about the whole deal." Chad grinned. "Look, it'll be cool, you'll see. This'll all work out, we'll have Jason back in the trio again, and then we can all head over to my house and figure out a way to get that chick back, alright? So c'mon, just loosen up, alright?" Chad chuckled. "Admit it, you're always getting these bad feelings over the smallest things." The brown-winged windian crossed his arms and leaned back a bit, motioning to his locker with a nod of his head. "Dude, admit it, I'm about to open my locker and you've got a bad feeling about that, right?" Chad was still grinning as David rolled his eyes.

"Oh yes!" David smirked and let out a laugh. "Chad! No! You can't open your locker! I fear that the unspeakable will be unleashed if you do so!" David then fell into a cowering position, causing Chad to let out a laugh as the windian placed his hand on the knob of his locker.

"I'm going to do it! So help me, I'm going to open it!"

"No!" The two were doing their best to hold in their laughter as they played out their melodramatic skit. "No, not, THE LOCKER!"

"Yes, David! THE LOCKER!" With that, Chad let out a cackle and pulled open his locker door. What happened next went by so quickly that David and Chad could only stand in wonder and try to piece together what happened.

The first thing Chad noticed was that his locker seemed extra loud as he opened it, and the second thing the windian couldn't help but realize was that something that resembled a large pan had just fallen from above and spilled some sort of substance all over him. It was about that time that Chad looked down at himself and found that he had just been thoroughly syruped and feathered upon the opening of his locker, and with a loud sigh the windian attempted to blow a few of the sticky feathers off of his face while removing his backpack and wiping some of the syrup from it. David's eyes simply went wide as he started at his friend who now resembled a giant chicken, and the windian had to put his hand over his mouth to keep from laughing too loudly as he backed into the lockers behind him and simply rested up against them for balance, guffawing loudly. Chad turned to his friend and waited for him to take a breath.

"Think it was her again?" Chad waited for David's response, but the windian was still laughing too hard. Picking a few more feathers from his sticky uniform, Chad considered him for a moment. "Alright, dude, just hit the locker, two hits for yes, one hit for no." David then responded by punching the locker next to him twice, clutching his chest with his other hand as he continued to laugh. Chad was grinning, his wings twitching a bit as he opened his backpack and began to transport books to and from his locker. Finally he heard David quiet down a bit and looked over to see him brushing a few tears from his eyes.

"Man, that was GREAT! Dude..." David took a few deep breaths and tried to calm his laughing before looking at Chad again with an enormous grin on his face. "Alright, seeing has how during lunch she booby trapped both our seats... I don't suppose you'd be a pal and open my locker too, would you?"

"Sure, why not?" Chad rolled his eyes, then reached over and popped open David's locker. Immediatly the syrup and feather process was repeated, only this time Chad didn't even bat an eyelash as he took David's backpack and began to shuffle his friend's books in and out of the locker, all the while acting as if flying feathers and syrup was an every day casual thing for him. Closing both lockers quickly, Chad grabbed up his backpack and handed David's back to him. "Anyway, let's get home, change... um.. wash up a bit, and then get to work on getting Jason back, shall we?"

David chuckled as he carefully took his pack from Chad, doing his best not to get any of the mess on him. "Sure thing. Say Chad, you know what?"

"What?" Chad shouldered his pack before turning to David.

"You're a real pal." David grinned widely at his friend. "I don't know many guys who have friends that would take a syrup and feathering for them."

Chad just chuckled as the two began to walk out of the school. "Hey man, I'll take the syrup and the feathers, but the minute you become threatened with anything more dangerous then that and you can take care of your own self, alright?" The two windian's headed out the front gates of Windian High just as the bell rang to signal the release of school.
