Life at Windian High (Part 2)

"There she is." Lucy pointed to Yuki who was waiting beside one of the trees in the courtyard as Janet and Lucy stepped out through the main doors of Windian High. The raven-haired windian gave her friend a concerned glance as they both headed over to where the Japanese teenager was waiting. "So you're really ready for this, huh?"

Janet nodded grimly, glancing up momentarily to acknowledge Yuki before she began to scan the crowd in search of Justin. It didn't take her long to spot him out. Candice was standing with him as Justin was talking with one of his wrestling friends. Another quick glance around the area and Janet noted that Chad and David didn't seem to be with them. Odd. Oh well, not like I care anyway. Janet rubbed her arms before speaking to her friends. "Alright, let's get this over with."

"Janet, we're right here for you." Yuki smiled at her and Janet replied with a nod before the three turned and began to walk over to where Justin was located. Candice was the first to look up as the three girls approached. She gazed curiously at Janet for a moment, but her expression soon turned into a scowl as she spotted Yuki and Lucy with her. The blonde windian crossed her arms over her chest and turned to greet the three with a smirk.

"You three doing a parade or something? Looks like you're out to conquer the world."

"Cut the sarcasm crap, Candi. I just want to talk to Justin." Janet didn't even look at the girl as she turned her attention towards Justin who glanced up at the sound of his name. The white-winged windian turned from his conversation and seemed a bit surprised when he caught sight of Janet glaring at him. Justin's wings twitched uneasily as he raised an eyebrow at her, stratching the back of his head momentarily.

"Hey babe. You weren't there at lunch, I was wondering where you were..."

"Don't pull that 'babe' crap with me right now, Justin." Janet's voice was stern as she glared up at the startled windian.

"Janet?"

"Listen," Janet shook her head. "Don't think I've been blind to everything you've been doing behind my back!" Janet gazed up at Justin with a hurt and hatefull expression. By now, a small crowd of students was beginning to gather around the scene. WINGS was, in fact, a very well known group in the school, so when Janet and Justin started fighting, many of the students were bound to watch. Janet just ignored the crowd as she held her glare at Justin. "Yes, I'll admit that for a long time I was denying it and hoping it wasn't true, but I was never blind to it. And now I've had enough! Justin, we're through!" Justin's eyes went wide for a moment and his wings twitched as he glanced around at the crowd of students that was forming. He could hear a few snickers from some of the onlookers as Janet continued to rant at him.

"I'm tired of watching you and Candice together behind my back, I'm tired of having to put up with you and the WINGS instead of being able to be around my real friends, and I'm sick and tired of thinking you really care about me when you obviously don't!" Janet's voice was shaking a little but her angry tone didn't let up as she continued to glare at Justin. "So that's it! We're over! Through! Done! I don't want to ever have to talk to you or see you again!"

"My, how dramatic, Janet. Have you been rehearsing in a mirror?" Candice smirked and Janet turned her dangerous glare towards the blonde windian as she spoke.

"Shut your trap and keep out of this, Candice!"

"Hey, if it's your business, it's WINGS business." Candice placed her hands on her hips and gave Janet a challenging look, still smirking.

"Well not anymore it's not." Janet growled out at Candice and the crowd around them seemed to murmer suddenly as Janet jabbed a finger at the blonde windian. "WINGS is through, Candi."

"Excuse me?" Candice blinked and gave Janet a challenging look. "Oh, so you get mad at Justin because you ran off and left him for that dragon, and now because of that you're just going to call it quits for the WINGS?"

"WHAT?" Janet's eyes went wide and her hands dropped to her side, clenching into fists as she stepped towards Candice. "Ran off with the dragon??? What the HELL are you talking about?"

"You know what I'm talking about." Candice smirked and brushed a few strands of hair behind her ears as she considered Janet. The crowd around them seemed to lean in as the two girls began their fight. "Remember when you went and ran off with the dragon for those couple of weeks? C'mon, Janet. You try and peg Justin for being the cheater, but what were you doing out there with that lizard anyway?"

Janet's face began to turn red, and the crowd of students started to wonder to each other if it was from anger or from embarrassement. "You little skank! Listen, you boyfriend snatching bitch! Why don't you go back to rounding up more guys for your harem and just leave me alone, alright?! I was helping Lucy, so just leave Ray out of this!"

"Oh, so you're leaving Justin for Lucy then?" Candi's smirk grew as she leaned forward to get a better look at Janet's insulted face. "Well, no wonder you two are such great friends."

"Alright Candice, now you're taking this just a bit far." Lucy glared at the blonde windian who just laughed back at her.

"What, and now you're trying to be threatening? Oh, like you really scare me, Lucy. Shouldn't you be off somewhere, spreading around your 'pro-dragon' crap and trying to infect our city with your ignorance?"

"Keep her out of this, Candi! You're fight is with me!" Janet took a step towards the smirking windian.

"Well then it's not much of a fight is it? So is that why you brought your girlfriends along?" Candice motioned with barely a wave to Yuki and Lucy. "You'd have someone to drag your limp body away for you?"

"Alright Candice, you want to fight me?" Janet's eyes narrowed dangerously and Candice leaned forward to meet her gaze face to face, her taunting smirk still splitting her face.

"I don't think you'd have the guts to fight me, you wingless little inbred."

The sound of Janet's open hand colliding with the side of Candi's face seemed to echo throught the courtyard as the entire crowd rumbled with a loud gasp and Candice took a few steps back, rubbing her cheek that was now red from Janet's slap. "You little bitch!"

"Don't you DARE call me a bitch you fucking little-" Janet was cut off as suddenly Justin grabbed a hold of her raised arm roughly, and she let out a startled yelp as she turned to glare at Justin who now what a dangerous and defensive look on his face.

"Don't you even try to hit her like that again..."

"Get your filthy hands off of me and why don't you put them back down your pants where they usually are anyway?!" Janet screamed her reply at Justin as she made a motion to yank her arm out of his grasp. The crowd around them went dead silent as the caught Janet's words, but it was Justin's reply to the comment that had really caught them all off guard.

Immediatly following the last word to leave Janet's mouth, Justin's fist collided with a strong blow to her face and the windian immediatly crumpled to the ground, tears flowing just as freely from her eyes as the blood was now flowing from her nose and through her fingers as Janet held her face in her hands, sobbing loudly. Candice gave her a disgusted look, still rubbing her cheek as she turned towards the crowd around them.

"Well, quite frankly I think she deserved that."

"KAMI-SAMA! HOW DARE YOU!" Yuki's voice was full of fire as she shouted at Justin, and Lucy let out a startled cry as the japanese teenager next to her began to summon up her persona. With a glance down at Janet, the raven-haired windian moved quickly to stop Yuki before she could attack Justin.

"What are you doing?" Yuki turned to stare at Lucy like she had just gone crazy as the windian grabbed a hold of her shoulder.

"What am I doing? Kami, I'm going to teach him a lesson he's not going to forget, that's what I'm doing! PERSO-"

"STOP!" Lucy's demanding shout caused the teenager to pause in her summoning and the raven-haired windian jabbed a finger at Janet. "Forget about him! Can you do something for her?"

With one last dangerous glare at Justin, Yuki moved to where Janet was huddled on the ground and prepared herself to heal her friend. "Persona!" A transparent warrioress, clad in red armor and surrounded by a faint red hue arose from the teenagers soul and healed Janet. All around them, the crowd of students began to murmer again and backed away a bit as the scene before them unfolded. By now, there was hardly a student left in Windian High who hadn't already seen Frank summon up his persona, but it was still a shock whenever another Persona User displayed their powers. As the persona Vesta faided back into Yuki's soul, Lucy dropped down quickly and began to examine her friend.

"Janet, are you alright?"

Justin and Candice had watched the entire healing scene, and the blonde windian had a scowl on her face as she crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at Yuki, speaking to herself quietly. "Great, another one." Justin heard her and was about to reply if it weren't for a blow that caught the windian completely off guard.

All Justin could register was the painful feeling of a fist colliding into the side of his face, followed by the heat of fire that seemed to burn over his skin for a brief moment before the windian was sent flying backwards and onto the ground from the force of the punch. Blood tricked from a cut just above his eye and the windian attempted to pull himself up with a groan, trying to figure out what had just happened. He didn't have long to wonder, because soon enough Jason Burnhart grabbed a hold of the collar of his shirt and jerked him up roughly, Jason's hand still glowing as red as it had been when he had thrown his first punch. The crowd around them immediatly stepped back to give the two more room as Jason's venom filled voice sounded through the courtyard.

"What the FUCK do you think you're doing? Haven't you ever FUCKING heard that you DON'T FUCKING HIT A LADY?!" Jason followed up his question with another strong blow to the windian's gut and a kick to his face as Justin double over in pain. Once again the white-winged windian was sent to the ground and Jason began to circle him like an animal circling its prey. "Get the fuck up, Bradford! If you're going to be throwing any fucking punches around here, then you're going to be fucking throwing them at me!" Jason watched as Justin worked himself up sorely onto his hands and knees, coughing loudly as blood trickled out of his mouth. With a feral growl, Jason delivered another sharp kick to the windian's side, causing him to fall to the ground once more before the enraged windian reached down and grabbed a hold of one of Justin's wings, jerking him back up to a weak standing position once more. "I said GET ON YOUR FUCKING FEET!" The red-haired windian was about to deliver another sharp blow to the side of Justin's head when the feeling of a hand on his shoulder caused him to turn suddenly, lashing out instantly at the new figure who had entered the fight.

Ray barely managed to dodge back in time to miss Jason's wild swing at his head before the windian was able to register the dragon standing there. With the snarl of a wild animal, Jason turned from Ray to look over to where Justin had once again fallen to the ground, coughing loudly as he spat blood from his mouth. The windian then glared over at Ray again for stopping him before he shoved past the dragon, muttering as he made his way out of the crowd of amazed students. He didn't have to work hard to get through them all, they simply parted to form a path for him, no one really wanting to get in the way of the angered fighter with the glowing fist.

Ray watched him go, managing to decipher Jason's mutters as he shoved by. The windian had mentioned going to pick up Britney from school before heading away from what was left of the fight scene. Ray then glanced over at where Justin was now working himself into a standing position, and the dragon moved quickly to join the three girls. "I think we should get out of here before anything else happens." He motioned with a slight nod of his head over to Justin and Candice, and the three nodded in agreement as Janet, Lucy, Yuki and Ray made their way through the crowd and hurried quickly off of school grounds. The group of four continued to walk until they reached Windian Park, where Janet finally took a seat on the fountain's edge, Yuki and Lucy sitting on either side of her as Ray paced back and forth infront of them.

"Are you alright?" Lucy was still looking Janet over with concern as she nodded her head.

"Yes, for the last time, I'm fine..." She sniffed lightly and brushed the remains of her tears from her eyes. Ray was rubbing the back of his neck uneasily as he finally stopped in his pacing.

"What happened? I walked out of the school in time to see Yuki finishing up something, and then by the time I had managed through the crowd of students to see what was going on all I could see was Jason attempting to kill Justin on school grounds..."

"There was just some trouble, that's all. Janet finally confronted Justin after school and it got a little rough..." Yuki didn't seem too eager to explain the whole situation to Ray, and the dragon nodded, apparently satisfied with the information she had given him. Lucy then looked up from Janet and shot a glance around the park.

"Speaking of Jason, where did he go? Ray, I don't think it's a very good idea to let him rush off like that when he's that aggrivated..."

"He'll be fine." Ray shrugged. "He just went to-" the dragon's words stopped abruptly as a familiar sounding high-pitched wail fill the air. His eyes went wide as the dragon turned towards the noise. "Britney???"

The entire group of four looked up to see the little dragon racing quickly towards them, crying loudly as she ran. "RAY! RAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!" She stumbled and let out a sob as her trip sent her tumbling to the ground. She would have landed roughly if it weren't for her older brother who had raced up in time to catch her. The young dragon threw her arms around Ray's neck, sobbing loudly and refusing to let go as she just continued to scream his name.

"What in Landon's name??" Lucy was next to appear beside Ray as she looked down at the bawling dragon. "What's wrong?"

"Oh my god, are those burns?" Janet pointed to Britney's arms and face and Yuki's eyes went wide as she spotted what the windian had just noticed.

"Kami-Sama! What happened to her?" Immediatly the Persona User summoned her persona to heal the little girl. Britney didn't even seem to notice. She was too busy crying loudly with her head buried in her older brother's shirt. Ray was trying frantically to calm his sister.

"Britney... shhhhh, it's okay, I'm right here, alright? You're okay now..."

"RAY!" Britney tilted her head up, tears streaming down her face in floods as she continued to cry loudly. "Ray! It hurt! It hurt so much! The fire..." Her wailing seemed to rise as she tightened her grip around her brother and dropped her face into his chest again. Ray suddenly went dead silent as an alarm clicked off in his head. The older dragon then carefully pried his sister from him and handed her over to Lucy as Britney immediatly clamped on to the raven-haired windian, still crying loudly. Lucy gave Ray a confused look and he shook his head.

"Lucy, take her home." With that, Ray turned and began racing quickly off in the direction Britney had arrived from. Lucy blinked in surprise and called after him.

"Where are you going?"

"I have to go find Jason! Just get Britney home!" The dragon shouted over his shoulder before turning and running quickly out of sight.
