Life at Windian High (Part 2)

The four girls walking through Central Windia formed one of those clusteres that often made people stop and wonder just how four girls like them could hang out together.

Amber's white wings were bouncing with every step, her blonde hair pulled back in an elegant braid and her blue eyes sparkled as she spoke. She was wearing a white blouse under her bright pink vest. An ankel length skirt, lighter pink in color then her vest, billowed out behind her gracefully. Overall, the windian girl held an aura of poise and perfection that flowed about her.

Next to Amber, the grey-furred forest clan girl with the black and white muzzled let out a bark before flashing an open-mouthed grin, her tongue lolling out as her tail wagged in amusement. Tym's short charcoal bangs just barely fell infront of her greyish eyes, and she scratched a finger at the leather, spiked dog collar she was wearing around her neck. The wolf girl was wearing her favorite outfit, a long sleeved, tight, plain black shirt, over top of that she wore a vivid pink tanktop with the writing 'Good Girl, Bad Dog' across the chest in thick black letters. Her faded black jean shorts reached to just above her knees where they frayed off, and finally the wolf was wearing black steel-toed boots that looked well worn and broken in. Tym let out another amused howl that received a curious look from Amber.

On the other side of Amber, Sabs was walking quickly, her brown and blue cloth purse was slung across her shoulder. The human's fire red hair was parted, the left side of her hair was longer and tied up in a lose braid that hung down over her shoulder. The right side was shorter and pulled back behind her ear with a few clips. Sabs' emerald eyes flared for a moment and she rolled them at a comment from Tym, clicking her tongue in annoyance. Her outfit was obviously Tunlan designed, its bright colors and designs made to be eye catching. She was wearing a lose T-shirt, a vest that she let hang open over it, tight legged pants and sandals that shuffled a bit as she walked.

Finally the group of four was completed by the stallion girl who trotted along behind them, her vivid blue tail flicking back and forth, and every so often she'd shake her blue mane idly letting out a snort. Chelsea was wearing just a normal white T-shirt and a pair of athletic looking blue pants. She glanced over at what Tym was barking at, her nostrils flaring.

"Oh fer cying out loud! Tym, shut your trap already!" The stallion's strong hand gripped the wolf girl's muzzled closed and Tym let out a startled yelp, trying to shake herself out of Chelsea's hold. With a final deep growl, Tym jerked her muzzled away, rubbing it sorely as she gave the stallion a glare from the corner of her eyes.

"Serves you right." Amber looked over at the three worens that her friend had been barking out before turning her gaze to the forest clan girl. "Like they can understand your yapping anyway?"

"Oh trust me, they know what I mean." Tym let out a whining growl and her black-tipped ears twitched as she looked back towards the cluster of worens who were now yowling back their replies. Tym let out a loud series of vicious barks before Chelsea's grip on the nape of her neck pulled her back into step with her other three friends. The group continued their walk through Central Windia.

"Cheezus, Tym, the noise you make is amazing!" Sabs rubbed her ringing ears as she spoke. Tym's tail wagged as she opened her mouth in a grin at the human.

"Heh, you should hear me when I really get going."

"No that's alright." Sabs groaned. "You've made a scene enough already."

"Oh, you think that was a scene?" Amber let out a giggle, her wings fluttering a little. "You all missed it during lunch. I was in the outer part of the cafeteria, and you know how Janet Meyers and Justin Bradford have broken up? Well apparently some guy was asking Janet to the dance and he made a huge scene out of it! He was like, my gosh, he was basically groveling in front of her! I think he started trying to kiss her feet or something."

Sabs stuck her tongue out, she could hear Tym and Chelsea laughing at the mental image of guys groveling around Janet Meyers for a chance to go to the dance with her. The human just shook her hair, her fire red hair catching the light and glinting metalically. "Cheezus, alright, that's just sad."

"Yea, but it was really funny." Amber giggled again.

"Oh hey, speaking of which..." Sabs snapped her fingers as she turned to her windian friend. "Have you asked anyone to the dance yet? You know... like a certain someone whom you wont tell us who he is?" Sabs was grinning as she nudged Amber with her elbow. The windian just shook her head.

"Nah, guess I'm just going solo this time."

"Alright! The three of us can solo it together then!" Tym's tail was wagging and she turned to Chelsea. "You sure you're not going to come?"

"For the last time," the stallion snorted and shook her mane, "I'm not going! Besides, Dad's got a fight that night anyway."

"OH!" Tym's grey eyes opened wide with interest as her tail wagged. "Really? I wanna see! Oh wait... have they let him sharpen out his horn again yet since that last impaling incident?" Tym's eyes dimmed in boredom as Chelsea shook her head. "Aw, nevermind then."

"You are so wrong." Amber wrinkled her nose at Tym. "Oh my gosh, what is it with you?"

"I just thought it looked cool to see that one guy get gored when he like, jumped himself into one of Procter's attacks. I mean, come on, it was wide open for dodging and that stupid woren just leapt straight into it!" The wolf held a smirk on her face and her tail wagged as she remembered a fight that had taken place a couple of months before, involving Chelsea's dad and a male woren fighter. Procter, Chelsea's father who was a fighter at the Colosseum, had been allowed to keep his horn sharpened for fights as long as he used it sensibly in battle and didn't try to disembowel all of his opponents with it. However, during the fight against the woren, Procter had pulled off a move that would have been easily avoidable altogether, but the woren had chosen to leap at him instead. What resulted was an instant knock out that had named Procter the victor, a wound that left the woren fighter hospitalized for a couple of weeks, and a few fiery complaints directed at the Colosseum that led to the directors demanding that Procter blunt his horn now for the arena fights.

Amber gave Tym another disapproving look. "Ugh, right, whatever."

"Hey," Sabs just shrugged as she twirled her braid in her fingers. "This is coming from the girl who collects the skulls of woodland critters, bleeches them, and then sets them around her room for decoration."

Tym rolled her eyes and let out a growling whine. "What are you complaining about, little Ms. 'I think I'll just take all of Tunlan with me when I move up near Windia.'" The wolf's tail was wagging tauntingly as she lolled her tongue out with a smirk at Sabs. The human's eyes flared with a green fire as she glared back.

"Atleast I don't go around wearing spiked dog collars!"

"But I don't look like a tacky walking rug!"

Amber groaned loudly as her friends on either side of her continued to bicker loudly. Chelsea just let out a braying laugh and shook her mane.

"I'm going to walk back here with you..." The windian slowed down her pace and fell into step beside Chelsea as she watched Tym and Sabs continue to throw insults at each other. "Atleast you don't argue over stupid things."

"I'll give them five minutes and if they're still going at it I'll shut them both up." Chelsea let out a snort and began to time the two arguing teens.
