Life at Windian High

Jason was still muttering to himself as he made his way down to hall towards the auditorium. He passed by Justin and Janet who were standing in the hallway, talking. Justin called out to Jason as he passed by.

"Hey Jason! Get in trouble with Mrs. W again?"

"Yea yea." Jason muttered. "I think she's just against me or something, always yelling at me."

"Maybe if you weren't such a jackass all the time you wouldn't get in trouble so much." Janet clicked her tongue.

"Shut the hell up Janet!" Jason spinned around to glare at her. "Like you're a little angel in all of your classes any way!"

"More so then you!" Janet placed her hands on her hips in a defensive pose. Justin sighed and slipped an arm around Janet's waist before glancing down the hall at Jason.

"Bitch..." Jason muttered as he turned and began to stalk down the hallway again. He knew better then to try and fight with Janet when Justin was around. As much as he'd like to punch either one of those two windians in the face sometime, he knew that now was probably not the time for that. Not with Mrs. Wireman down the hall in her classroom threatening to do whatever it took to get him to behave. Some threats, Jason thought to himself. She makes it sound like being expelled from this fucking place would be a bad thing. Jason paced up to the doors of the auditorium and threw them open, walked past them quickly and heading over to the stage. He was a bit surprised to find that neither Lucy nor Brandon were in the auditorium. Lucy was almost always around, busying herself with the sound booth while Brandon would practice on his drums. Either way, it was probably better that neither of them were in the auditorium now. Jason clicked on the stage lights and made his way to were his guitar case was laying up against the wall, along with Justin's bass and a few more insturments that students left behind at school. Jason flicked open his case and pulled out his red guitar, then headed over to the front of the stage again.

He glanced around the auditorium again, double checking to see if he was alone. Jason usually didn't mind if someone else was around when he played. It was just at times when he had a lot on his mind that Jason would rather not have anyone around. It helped him think clearer. Jason strummed lightly on his guitar as his mind wandered. He and Troy had fought again today before school. He had remembered Troy's remarks, calling him lazy and unprepared, saying he didn't care enough to give a damn about anything. His mind wandered to third period when he had been too troubled to finish up his test in math class. He thought about lunch, how he and Chad had been picking on Ray. He thought about fourth period, and then seeing Mrs. Wireman after school. Jason muttered to himself. If it hadn't been for that fight with Troy in the morning, his day probably would have looked a whole lot better then it did now. Jason picked out a little tune and sang quietly to himself as his mind continued to wander over the day.

"Nothing but a chemical in my head, nothing but laziness..." Jason continued to play quietly as his words faided out, his mind still wandering. He thought a bit about his math test, how maybe he could have done better if he had studied a bit more. A slight smirk came to his face as he continued to strum lightly.

"I don't want to read the book, 'cause it's not me... I'm just like everybody else my age... I think I'd rather play around, 'cause I don't wanna face my fears... 'cause it's not me, I'm just like everybody else my age..."

Jason stopped playing for a moment and stared down at his guitar, his mind on too many other subjects to really notice the room around him. For a moment, the windian seemed to not even notice he was in the auditorium at his high school. His hands worked over the strings, plucking them lightly and causing barely a twang to be heard from them. He let out a sigh and chewed his lower lip a bit as he moved his attention to the song he was busy improving. He began strumming the tune out again and repeated a few lines to himself to get his mind back on track.

"I'm just like everybody else, just like everybody else.... Because I don't wanna be here, I don't wanna see this now, it's all wrong but it's all right. I don't wanna be here, I don't wanna study now, it's all wrong but it's all right."

He continued to play the tune long after he ran out of words to sing. It was enough to just sit there and let his mind run to the sound of his guitar. A small feeling in the back of his mind turned his attention to the amount of time he had spent in the auditorium, and how he should probably get home. With a sigh, Jason stood up from where he had been sitting on the edge of the stage and headed over to put his guitar away. Shortly after, the windian left the auditorium, stopping by his locker to get his things, and left school.
