Life at Windian High

A golden winged, blonde haired Windian approached the captain's office of the Windian Royal Guard.

Approaching the door, the young woman opened it and gave her commanding officer a salute.

"You wanted to see me sir?" The golden winged Windian asked her captain.

"At ease, Ms. Avalon. Please, take a seat." Captain Matt Conwing said.

Maria Avalon smoothed her uniform out and took a seat across from her commanding officer.

Captain Conwing stood and stretched his wings. "Maria... Principal Stewart called in a disturbance at Windia High. Could you please go and check it out?

Windia High? Isn't that where Frank and Kate attend school? And Brandon?

The blonde nodded to her superior. "Yes sir. I'll attend to the matter as soon as possible."

"Thank you Maria. Apparently, Principal Stewart thought he saw a weird looking girl wandering the halls, and decided to call us to check in on it."

Maria fingered the revolver at her hip lightly. "Anything else I need to know, sir?"

Captain Conwing merely shook his head.

"Right then..." Maria said as she stood, stretching her golden wings. "I'll be on my way then. I'll have a report ready when I return."

It was now the sixth and final period at Windia High. Neko-Chan had managed to hide herself well, despite the fact that the principal had seen her earlier.

Meow... where is he? I can't find him anywhere!

Neko-Chan was now hiding in the cafeteria again, this time avoiding Lunch Lady Kester. The doors were open, giving her a clear view of what was going on out in the hallways of the high school.

Myah... I should have just stayed at home... Meow... Jess is probably worried about me...

Neko-Chan lay pressed to the floor underneath a table, scanning the hallways for Frank.

Mrowr... so many people here! How am I gonna...

At that moment, Frank and Kate passed by the cafeteria, talking amongst themselves.

Meow! There he is!!! I've got to warn him!

Neko-Chan moved from her hiding place and peeked out the double doors.

Myah! He's heading into there! I've got to talk to him!

Neko-Chan made a beeline toward the auditorium, finally happy that she had found Frank.

Windia High... I remember coming here when I was a teenager.

Maria flexed her wings before entering the school.

As she walked the halls and made her way to the Principal's office, memories flooded her head.

I remember walking these halls... Training for the guard at the same time...

The blonde haired Windian entered the principal's office, and was promptly greeted by Principal Stewart, instead of the receptionist.

"Maria Avalon... It's been awhile! How have you been?"

Maria shook Principal Stewart's hand. "I've been fine, sir. So, what seems to be the problem here?"

Principal Stewart looked around before shrugging his gray wings nervously.

"I saw something... odd earlier today. A teenage girl who looks to be a cat... but she's not Woren..."

Maria looked at the principal oddly. "Are you sure this girl is not a student?"

Principal Stewart looked the Guard Member straight in the eyes.

"I'm positive. And what girl has two tails waving around all the time?"

Maria raised an eyebrow.

Two... tails? What?

"I'll take a look around, and see what I can find, okay?"

The principal nodded before Maria left to begin her search of the high school.

Myah... what is this?

Neko-Chan glanced at the sign above a set of double doors.

Meow? What? Au... Aud... Auditor.... Auditorium. Why would Frank be here? Oh well...

Neko-Chan crept into the auditorium quietly. She let the doors shut behind her, leaving the room not quite bright, but nearly dark as well.

The catgirl demoness let her vision change over to a natural infrared before scanning the auditorium.

Myah... The advantages of being a kitty, purr... There's Frank! He looks to be asleep! But why now?

Neko-Chan slowly made her way down to the aisle of chairs that her guardian was asleep in.

"Myah... Frank! Wake up! Frank!!!" Neko-Chan said as she shook the Persona User from his slumber.

"Mmm... MMM... Huh? What? Who?" Frank said sleepily.

"Myah!!! FRANK!!!" Neko-Chan said as she waved her arms and both her tails.

Frank looked over to the side, still blinking the last vestiges of sleep out.

Rats! All I wanted to do was catch a nap during Open Study, since I don't have any homework! Wait... Neko-Chan? What's she doing here?

"Neko-Chan? What are you doing here? Does Jess know..."

Neko-Chan shook her head vigorously.

"Wait... you mean to tell me you've been following me all day?" Frank said in disbelief.

Neko-Chan nodded, her ears bobbing up and down. "Meow! That's right!"

Frank placed a hand to his head, letting out a long drawn sigh.

"Why?" Frank simple asked.

"Meow... I just wanted to see what you did all day here... That's all. You're not mad at me, are you?"

Frank looked at the demoness who in turn was looking at the floor.

"Mad at you? No. How can I get mad at you? But you should have told mom where you were going. She's probably pacing the store, worried sick."

Neko-Chan's ears drooped. "Meow... the thought crossed my mind as well. Purr... I'm sorry Frank."

The Persona User let out a smile. "Don't worry about it." Frank punctuated the sentence by scratching behind Neko-Chan's, producing a purr from the demoness.

"MYAH!!! That's right! Frank! There's something I need to tell you..."

**************************************************

Maria sighed to herself as she combed the halls of the high school. After getting some information from one of the Lunch Ladies, she left just in time to spot something odd.

Wait... two tails? Principal Stewart was right! Who... or what...

Maria ran a hand through her hair and flexed her wings, before slowly making her way to the auditorium doors.

It can't hurt to be too careful...

The Windian Guard slowly drew her revolver before creeping into the darkness of the auditorium. She let her eyes adjust to the darkness before proceeding.

I knew I should have brought my crossbow with me! I just hope that thing isn't dangerous.

Revolver pointed toward the floor and clutched in both hands, Maria made her way around to where the demoness was.

As Maria snuck around in the darkness, she heard Neko-Chan talking.

Whoa... she can talk! But... who or what is she talking to?

Maria came out of the darkness with her revolver pointed at the demoness.

"Freeze! Windian Guard! Don't make a move!"

"What the... MYAH!!!" Neko-Chan said as she flipped up and into a defensive position, hissing.

Frank just cleared his throat. "Hey Maria! Don't worry about her. She's with me."

Maria took the time to look at the Persona User. "Wait... she's with you, Frank? So..."

Frank got up from his seat and looked at Maria. "She's not dangerous, if that's what you're thinking."

Neko-Chan kept on glaring at the Windian.

Maria looked at Frank, then at Neko-Chan, before holstering her revolver.

With this movement, Neko-Chan finally eased herself out and relaxed.

"Okay... so do you mind explaining what's going on here, Frank?" Maria asked the young human.

"Certainly." Frank told his friend.

Frank explained what had happened when the snow storm had hit a few months ago, concerning the Snow Queen incident. Maria had no trouble believing Frank, since he, Kate, and Tellka had saved her in the coliseum. She knew about his powers and the odd items he carried, so this was no shock to her.

Maria shrugged her wings once more. "All right then. I'll just tell your principal that there was no threat, okay? Just be careful when you leave."

Frank nodded. "Hey, I will. Don't worry."

Maria smiled at Frank. "If you see Kate and Tellka, tell them I said hi." The Windian Guard then made her way out of the auditorium.

The bell signaling the end of school finally rang. Frank shouldered his back pack before turning to Neko-Chan.

"So... what did you want to tell me earlier?"

Neko-Chan looked up, then turned to Frank with an innocent look.

"Myah... I forgot... But I may remember later!"

Frank took that moment to facefault.
