Life at Windian High

It's not good to cling on to the past.

Tellka had told Kate this, and it had been true. She was glad to see that Kate was doing just fine after having her mother be gone for so long. But it was something else that was bothering Tellka.

"Hard to not cling to the past," the woren muttered, "when the past is all you have left... and you know it's just waiting for you in the future."

Tellka had her secrets. Secrets that she kept even from Kate. She never wanted to make the young woren worry, so Tellka had wisely kept her mouth shut. Every so often, however, those secrets would slip back into the older woren's mind and she'd think back to other things, to when she was alive, to what she was waiting for in this 'life' of hers. Earlier, when Tellka had been with Kate at the colosseum and the two were talking about when they first met Frank, Tellka could remember what it was like after she found out that Frank had received Katt as his Ultimate Persona. She remembered the arguement that she and Katt had had, the things she had said and the things she had almost said.

My secrets keep themselves... Tellka stared through the leaves of the tree she was laying in and gazing up at the darkening sky. She had been keeping her thoughts to herself, not allowing Kate to hear what was running through her mind. It was a skill Tellka had, a skill that came with experience of hiding things from others, a skill Kate had yet to learn how to develop. Unlike Tellka, Kate was unable to keep her thoughts from her guardian, and Tellka knew everything that passed through the young worens mind. There were no secrets kept between Kate and her, just secrets kept between her and Kate. Secrets that she knew would soon be told in due time.

Not too soon I hope. Tellka grumbled to herself. Something had been moving about uneasily in the back of the woren's mind. Some weird sense that had started up not too long ago. At first the woren had ignored it, but eventually the feeling had grown to the point where Tellka would often stop to try and figure out what it meant. The fighter was suspicious, but somehow she felt that the feeling in her mind was nothing more then a passing sensation, so she continued to wait it out.

She can't be back. Tellka told herself as her tail waved lightly in the wind from where it hung down from the branch the woren was laying on. I know that demon Redwing had mentioned her, but she can't be back yet. Landon knows I need more time.

'Tellka?'

Tellka jumped in surprise as Kate's little voice sounded off in her mind. She knew that the younger woren hadn't heard any of her personal musings, but Kate's innocent call was well placed enough to make Tellka bat an ear in worry as she responded.

Yes?

'Carrie's wondering about you. You know she hasn't seen you all day.'

Let her wonder. Tellka rested herself agains the branch again and sighed. Tellka and Carrie Harlow, the woman who had taken in Kate when she first came to Windia, had never been off to a good start. Carrie had never known who Tellka really was, other then that she was some woren who showed up one day claiming to watch over Kate. Carrie had always been protective of the young teen, and Tellka's sudden appearence had made her rather annoyed. Tellka, on the other hand, had found most of the whole situation amusing. Carrie didn't know about the bond between Tellka and Kate. Truth be known, Tellka could whisk Kate away from Carrie any time she felt she needed to, and the windian wouldn't be able to stop her. But I wouldn't do that to Kate. Tellka thought to herself. There was too much there that Kate had gotten used to, and it would be unnecessary to pull her away from all of that now. So I'll put up with Carrie, for Kate's sake atleast.

'Are you coming home?'

Yea. Tellka stretched and sat up. I'll be there shortly. With another glance around the woods, Tellka reverted back to her spirit form and made her way home.
