Life at Windian High

Chris Fallon was on his way to Windia Park.

After hearing what had happened to Chris, Frank had told him to meet Nate beside the fountain in the center of the park. As the woren made his way to the park, many things had crossed his mind.

So... Frank's her adopted son... I get to work with him and... Diane... I wonder... will I ever be able... I dunno... When the time is right, I'll ask her.

I trust them. Frank's not going to do anything to get me killed. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to do that. But... what are they going to do? All they mentioned was someplace called the Velvet Room... And someone else named Igor is supposed to help me...

"Chris! Over here!!!" Nate yelled from near the fountain.

Sure enough, Nate was sitting on the edge of the fountain, with a rifle strapped to his back

A rifle? Why would he need that? And... what's with that gun??? It's unlike anything I've ever seen before! The metal has a white finish... There are gold accents... And... it's got an aura about it...

"Nate... I'm here... what do we do now?" Better not ask him about the gun.

The Persona User adjusted his scarf before getting up from his seat. "We head over to the Reverse Edge. I'm sure the others are there by now."

Nate and Chris made their way over to the Reverse Edge. As soon as Nate entered the door, he noticed Frank, Ellen, Diane, Alex, and Kate. What had him scared was that everyone, save Kate, was armed to the teeth.

What? Why... why's everyone... Frank's got a rapier and an odd looking shotgun strapped to his back... Ellen's got a silver rapier... and Diane... whoa! That is one hell of a rifle!

"Hey guys!" Nate yelled out. Frank greeted his friend before handing him an extremely odd looking broadsword.

Wait... no edge... how's he going to cut anything with that?

Greetings were passed within the group, and Chris was still hurt. The girl that he was in love with was uneasy around him.

And it's all that damn demon's fault.

Chris shook his head, and ran a hand through his hair nervously.

"So... um... what's with all the weapons?" The Woren asked nervously.

Ellen sheathed her rapier. "When we pull the rest of HellCat out of you, we don't know what will happen."

Alex cracked his knuckles before punching one of his own hands. "It can't hurt to be too careful, you know."

Frank looked around. "Ahh well... We may as well get this over with..."

The group nodded in agreement before setting out toward the alley beside the Reverse Edge.

**************************************************

The Velvet Room... the place where souls seek out those in need...

The entire room is blue... blue painted walls, blue carpeting...

The inhabitants of the room are there, fulfilling their roles, which is to aid the Persona Users and their friends with anything that may trouble them.

Igor, the bignosed man, was the keeper of the Persona. With the proper tarot or spell cards, he could use the energy to call out to the souls in myth or from the past, or even from other worlds. Those souls are the ones who are always there for the Persona Users, through thick and thin, for better or for worse. Some of those souls even bond to Persona Users, meaning that no other Persona User besides the initial one can equip him or her.

Then there's the opera singer, Belladonna. She's always there, singing along to the piano music, with a sweet, gentle, but at the same time, sad voice. She seems to be able to read into anyone's soul, and offer them advice, while keeping up her song.

Nameless was the pianist. The well dressed man was always wearing a blindfold made of rich, purple silk. The pianist had a talent of reading into a person's soul, despite the fact that many a Persona User thought he was blind. Truth be told, no one knows. Igor doesn't even know.

And finally, we have the Demon Artist. His role is to paint with magic. He enjoys what he does, painting tarot cards for the Persona Users if they bring him Free Tarot Cards. His philosophy is that life is a blank canvas and that you fill it with paint in the form of those events that happen around you.

The double blue tinted glass doors open, and in filed Frank and his friends. The group spread out, with Chris sticking beside the door, taking in the sights.

Igor slowly stood from his seat and took a bow. "Welcome to the Velvet Room, where the souls of the past and other worlds seek out those in need. Please... show me your Persona."

Chris took a look at Igor, judging the Keeper of Persona in his mind.

This is the guy who's supposed to help me? He looks sinister, but something is telling me that he's not...

Frank spoke up, catching Igor's attention. "I want to summon some Persona... but first thing's first... My friend here..."

Igor's gaze slowly turned from the Persona User to Chris. As soon as he got a glimpse of the formerly possessed Woren, his eyes shot up in worry.

"Oh! Young man... you have half a demonized Persona within you!"

Chris heard Diane mutter something under her breath. What he heard had made him feel pain.

Ladon...I don't even stand a chance now... She hates me...

Igor snapped Chris out of his thoughts. "This must be taken care of immediately! Frank! Was this one of the two stray HellCat Persona that was loose in Lunarvale?"

Frank offered a grim nod. "It was, Igor. It's the brother of the one we killed back in the museum."

This prompted Igor to have an extremely worried look on his face. The Keeper of the Persona turned to Chris. "Come here, child..." Was all Igor said.

Chris obeyed, and approached Igor who was in the center of the room.

Igor pulled a device out of his jacket and scanned Chris with it. When the bignosed man looked at the results, he frowned even more.

"I was afraid of this..." Igor said grimly as he placed the device back in his pocket. "What's left of HellCat is tugging at a gene found in the woren in this world."

Ellen, all too familiar with the gene, was shocked. "You mean..."

Igor nodded gravely. "Weretiger."

Chris was shocked, then he was upset. Over my dead body! I won't allow him to do that!

Alex spoke up. "So... if Chris here was to berserk, he'd become HellCat?"

Igor shook his head. "Worse... the gene within him is dormant! The Persona that was corrupted by the Snow Queen is trying to turn him into one and come to life in that form!"

Chris shuddered at the mere thought of becoming something that he's not, and having HellCat take control once more.

Igor snapped his fingers, and immediately, an archaic table of sorts appeared in front of him.

"Mr. Fallon, please lie down here..." Igor said as he motioned toward the table.

How... how did he know... Chris nodded shakily, and made his way to the table.

Chris lied on the table, looking at the blue ceiling above him.

Igor pulled a device that looked like a cellular phone from his jacket. He spoke an archaic language into it, and the phone shook. When Igor pointed the phone at Chris...

"AAAGGGHHH!!!" Chris's tail stiffened, and then he passed out.

Sometime later, Chris finally awoke. The first thing that he noticed was that there was no nagging voice.

"Agh... I feel like something's been lifted from my soul..." The woren muttered as he moved to a sitting position.

"You should... that's what just happened..." Alex replied non-chalantly.

"The l'il trooper's all right!" Diane said with a chuckle.

Chris looked at Diane, before turning his attention to Frank. "So... what happened? Besides the fact that he wanted to turn me into a weretiger?"

"Well... he's gone... we finally killed it after Igor pulled it out of you." Frank said as he calmly reloaded his shotgun.

"So.. that means... I'm finally free..." Chris said with a smile.

The Woren stuck around as the Persona Users summoned new Persona. Truth be told, he was a changed person when he left the Velvet Room.
