Life at Windian High

This is the life... No homework... nice sunny day... it's a saturday so no school today or tomorrow... no one's at home... nice warm bench... Jason was laying on a large white bench in Windian Park, just a few yards away from the large angel fountain that marked the front of the park. The WINGS member was laying comfortably on his back, stretched out along the park bench with his arm drapped over his eyes, musing happily to himself about the nice day. Could it be any more perfect?

"Jason!"

Oh god no... Jason's body went rigid as he heard the familiar female voice singing out his name happily. Almost immediatly after the call, he felt the form of one of the female WINGS members throwing herself on top of him.

"There you are! I've been looking all over for you!" The voice continued happily. Jason still had his arm over his eyes as he felt fingers running lightly through his hair.

Pretend you're dead... maybe she'll go away...

"Aw, Jason," he could hear the pout in her voice, "look at me will you?" He felt fingers poking his arm lightly.

"Candi, what do you want?" Jason muttered, refusing to lift his arm from his eyes. "And will you get off of me? Geez..."

"Oh, you're no fun!" He felt Candice sliding off of him. "Now get up!" A rough tug at his arm.

Jason finally moved his arm and worked himself into a slouched sitting position, staring up at Candice. "What?"

Candice flashed him a smile. "Come on! The group wants to head up to the beach for some volleyball!"

"No thanks." Jason went to lay back down on the bench again. Candice grabbed a hold of one of his arms and tried to pull him back up again.

"Come on! You need to get out more!"

"Out? Out where? I am out!" Jason jerked his arm out of the windian's grip.

"You could be a bit more social." Candice placed her hands on her hips determindly.

"I am social. I'm just on a break right now. I'll be social tomorrow." Jason relaxed himself back into his laying position, his arm back over his eyes again. A moment later and he felt Candice on top of him again.

"Geez! Get off of me!" Jason sat up quickly, causing Candice to jump up quickly in order to keep from falling to the ground. She chuckled.

"I know how to get you up off that bench, Jason Burnhart." She flashed him a mischevious grin.

Jason muttered under his breath. "Will you go bug someone else?"

Candice opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by another voice from behind her. A look of annoyance passed over her face.

"Candi! Jason! You two coming?" Chad came running up to the two windians, glancing from one to the other.

"I'm coming. Just trying to get Mr. Lazy here to come with us." Candice motioned to Jason, who was back in his laying position. Jason snored loudly. Chad chuckled.

"Nah, just leave him there." Chad waved his hand at Jason in dismissal. With one last glance at the form on the bench, Candice followed Chad as they both headed out to find the rest of the WINGS group.

Chad, you're a life saver. Jason sighed to himself, glad to once again be free of the annoyance that was Candice Raster, and once again drifted back to his lazy thoughts of the day.
