Day of the Play

"Love," Ellen chuckled as she stepped off the stage after the lights went out. "I can't help but notice that you've been casting a lot of siblings as couples."

"Huh?" Alex's ears perked a bit. "What? Oh yea, huh?" The woren chuckled lightly, scratching the back of his head. "I didn't even notice. Well, how'd you like your part?"

"Aside from the fact that I was some old woman?" Ellen smiled playfully at her boyfriend. "It was a fun part."

"Hey, you have the recipe for those miracles?" Ryan hopped off the stage, heading over to his sister and her boyfriend. "Man, if we could cook those up and sell them at the Tiger's Catch.." he struck a Chiba thinking pose, his tail waving lightly. Ellen chuckled at her brother.

Janet let out a groan and stretched. "Hey, how come I haven't had a part yet?"

"You're coming up soon, don't worry." Alex's tail flicked lightly as he flipped through the script. "We're almost done, just a couple scenes left."

"Hey, this play is going great, Alex." Cynthia's tail wagged as she offered the woren a toothy grin. "It was a great idea."

"Yea!" Chad was beside Alex before the woren ever realized it, the windian's arm placed casually around Alex's shoulder as he spoke. "You know, if you ever find another nice little script like this somewhere I'd love to help you out with it! You've got the stage hook ups, I've got drama hook ups, we could make a wonderful team." Chad flashed Alex a quick grin.

"Uh... I'll think about it." The woren's tail flicked as he removed Chad's arm and headed over to the stage. "Alright, places everyone!" Chad headed back over to where Jason and David were sitting, looking over their lines. The windian sighed as he plopped down next to his friends.

"I've always wanted to direct a play."

David patted his friend on the shoulder. "Yea well, the woren beat you to it."

"Hey, look at it this way." Jason didn't look up from his script as he spoke. "You could always kill him and pass the idea off as your own."

Chad chuckled at his friend's idea. "Yea, but wouldn't I have to kill the witnesses and anyone else who knew about Alex being the original director?"

Jason whistled quiety to himself and snickered. "Sucks to be them then, huh?"

David just shrugged. "We'll take a vow of silence, oh please don't hurt us Chad, please don't!" The windian fell to his knees in front of Chad, pleading. "I swear we're on your side!"

"What the heck are you three up to now?" Alex glanced over from where he was standing in front of the stage. The Windian Trio just exchanged glances and began to laugh. With a confused and slightly worried flick of his tail, Alex went back to managing the cast.
