"Hey... where'd Alex go?" Chris was looking around curiously for the woren director. Frank glanced around the auditorium and shrugged."Now that you mention it, I haven't seem him... Ellen? Have you seen Alex?"
"Alex? Yea, I just saw him over-" the Persona User paused as she stared curiosly at the empty spot by the stage where her boyfriend had been standing. ".. there? Alex?" Ellen gave a confused look as she began to search the auditorium. "Has anyone seen Alex?" As soon as the words left her lips, the Windian Trio froze up and exchanged glances.
".... dude..." Jason threw his arms up in defense. "I swear, I didn't do anything! Besides, you're the one who was talking about wanting to direct your own play!" He jabbed an accusing finger at Chad.
"Man! You're the one who talks about killing people!" The brown-winged windian shook his head. "I had nothing at all to do with it!"
"And I've just been sitting right here." David held up his script. "I've been studying this thing."
"Come to think of it..." Chad stroked his goatee thoughtfully. "We've all been sitting right here, haven't we?"
"There, see?" Jason gave a defensive nod. "We didn't kill anyone."
"Not like I wouldn't put it by you." Janet rolled her eyes as she looked down at her script. The red-haired windian just glared back at her.
"Well anyway," Frank interrupted the WINGS members before any larger fight or arguement could errupt out of them. "Where is Alex anyway?"
"Alex?" Lucy stepped out from where she had been working in the sound booth. "I saw him go behind the stage a while ago."
Frank nodded. "I wonder if he needs help with something?" The Persona User went to investage, leaving the rest of the cast behind as he dissapeared around the stage. "Alex?" The teen called out as he approached the Green Room. "Alex are you back here?" The door to the room was cracked open a bit and the Persona User paused outside. "Alex?"
".... yea, but the scene changes are so weird with this one, I mean, you're switching back and forth all the time."
Frank paused as he heard the female voice speaking within the room. The Persona User's expression went from curious to confused as he recognized the voice. "Kate?"
"Well..." this time Alex's voice started up again from inside the Green Room. "C'mon, you've been doing a great job so far, can't you think of something?"
"Look." The female's voice started up again with a sigh and Frank leaned closer to the door to listen. "I've been doing all I can right now, it's hard enough keeping any of this even slightly believe able... I mean, you try and change around a well known play to fit a specific setting, and then try and mess with all the scene changes and the props to make it look like it could actually be done in a school auditorium!"
Frank shook his head as he muttered quietly to himself. "It sounds like her.. but there's something different, that can't be Kate's voice..." He continued to listen quietly as Alex spoke up again.
"Yea, you know... I really appreciate you doing this for me, there's only one scene left anyway. What if we.. I dunno, split the stage in half and just flash back and forth? Or we could use the audience as a part of it too."
"Hrm........ I'll see what I can do." The female's reply was followed by the sound of some clicks and taps.
Alex heaved a sigh. "Thank you! You know I couldn't have done this without you!"
"You know..." the female chuckled. "Technically none of you could have done anything without me."
"Yea....... I guess that's true." Frank could hear the uneasy thoughtfulness in Alex's voice, and the Persona User finally backed away from the door and headed back around to the front of the stage and the rest of the cast and crew, all the while thinking to himself.
"Who was he talking to? That voice.... it sounded so much like.. but it couldn't have been, could it? I mean, it kinda did sound like her, but something seemed different, besides, why would Alex be talking to Kate in the Green Room about the play?"
"Frank?"
The Persona User was startled out of his thought as he looked over to where his girlfriend was watching him, her tail waving lightly. "Yea, Kate?"
"What's on your mind? You look like something's really bothering you?"
Frank shook his head. "It's nothing, just thinking about the play. I mean, we're almost done, right? So there are going to be some big scenes coming up and I'm just wondering about it all." He offered his girlfriend a smile and a shrug. "But that's all that's on my mind." The woren gave him a studying look before she nodded, accepting his excuse, and turned back to where she had been helping Tellka with the curtains.
"So did you find Alex?" Ellen looked up from where she was sitting with Ryan as the woren studied his script. Frank was about to reply when the voice of the woren in question suddenly cut him off.
"Huh?" Alex stepped out from the behind the stage and heading over to his girlfriend. "I'm right here hon, need me for something?"
Ellen smiled at her boyfriend and stood up, planting a light kiss on his cheek. "We were all just wondering where you were. Everyone's ready to finish up this play and call it a day."
Alex smiled down at her and then nodded, turning to the rest of the cast. "Alright people, this last scene is kind of a large and weird one. There's going to be a lot of jumping around, a lot of scene changes, and well... just... a lot." His tail waved lightly. "So, we need to all be ready, and remember, just have fun!"
