Chapter 11

Frank looked at Kate (who was still in his arms), then at Tellka. He was relieved that both of them were okay, but he had some questions of his own. He suspected that there was something going on between both of them, but he never expected anything like this.

"Kate..." Frank started. Kate looked up at Frank when he mentioned her name.

"I need to know..." Frank said in a quiet tone. "What's going on between you and Tellka. If you think I'm going to tell anyone else, then you don't have to say anything. But I'll let you know this: What you say to me now will stay with me. I promise I won't tell anyone."

Kate looked at Tellka again. Frank noticed that she nodded. Kate then looked back up at Frank.

"Good Lord, she's not cute... She's beautiful!" Frank thought to himself, as he looked into Kate's blue eyes. He noticed that her right ear was twitching in anticipation.

"Frank... are you OK?" Kate asked.

"Huh? Yeah, Kate... I'm fine..." Frank heard Tellka snickering behind him. "What?"

"Nothing... nothing at all..." Tellka said innocently.

"Frank..." Kate said softly. Frank turned to look at Kate once again.

"About Tellka..." She started. "She's sort of like a guardian spirit. She's been with me since I was seven."

Frank raised an eyebrow. "Seven... How old are you know?" He asked.

"I just turned sixteen yesterday." Kate replied.

Frank smiled, then turned to Tellka.

"Ok, I'll keep my word on this. No one will find out about this from me." He said.

"Okay, Frank. If Kate can trust you, then so can I. Now let's go upstairs and get Kate equipped." Tellka told him, with a smile on her face. By now, Frank noticed that Kate was looking tired, and was about to fall asleep in his arms. He carefully took the rapier from her, and attached it to his belt before following Tellka upstairs.

"Look at this place..." Frank said in awe. He looked around and found several weapons, ranging from broad swords to throwing knives, all over the room. Near a wall, he noticed a small cot. He walked over there, and put Kate down gently.

Kate looked up at him, with weariness showing greatly. "Frank..." she started.

"Yeah, Kate..." he said gently.

"Thank you..." she said quietly.

Frank looked at her again. "I don't know... Is it right? Can I be falling in love with her? No one's made me feel this way before... " He thought to himself.

Frank looked around and noticed that Tellka was examining a shelf that vas full of various weapons, ranging from brass knuckles to claws. That's when he heard Kate again.

"Oh... How did that butterfly get in here?" She said.

Frank turned around and saw a yellow butterfly fluttering above Kate.

"That butterfly... again?"

Before Kate had a chance to ask, a flash of light filled the room. Kate and Frank had disappeared, and Tellka was getting angry over their disappearance.

*******************************************

Kate shook her head and looked around. Around her, there was... nothing... Below her feet was a checkerboard patterned floor. She looked to her right and saw Frank, who was not nearly as confused. What worried her, though, was the fact that she was standing up, even though she knew she had twisted her ankle.

A man, dressed entirely in white, and had a white mask on was in front of them. Kate looked at Frank then at the man.

"Welcome back, Frank." The man said. "Kate, you do not know me, yet. My name is Philemon... I was the one who gave Frank and his friends their powers." He continued. Kate's eyes went wide.

"Kate, you will not need these powers. You will grown on your own, eventually." he said.

"Philemon, maybe you can help me. Why am I in Windia? Are my friends..." Frank started.

Philemon waved his hand. "Your friends are fine. They are in another Lunarvale, a product of someone's imagination. However, Frank, Windia is a very real place, a kingdom within this entire world. You were brought here for a purpose. That purpose, I cannot tell you at the moment. In due time, though, you will learn. I found out about you when Ladon, the God of this world, let me know that someone had slipped into Windia."

Frank breathed a sigh of relief. Kate looked at Frank curiously.

"Frank..." Philemon started. "The time has come... I will give you the power to unlock your "Ultimate Persona." However, we must look and see if you are worthy."

Phlemon pointed in one direction, and images popped up. Kate and Frank looked over curiously.

"In the hospital, you could have chosen to let this nurse die by not helping Alex and Yuki. However, you chose to help them, putting your life at stake, knowing that the demons were coming after you."

Philemon pointed at another image. "You learned about Redwing, and what he was planning to do to Kate. You could have left, but didn't."

Frank looked at Kate and saw her smiling. He smiled back, then turned his attention to the images again.

"You put your life at risk by getting Kate out of harms way. Impressive... most others would not have done this." Philemon stated.

Philemon pointed to another picture. "Instead of running off, you decided to lend your services to Kate and Tellka. Another thing others would not do."

Philemon pointed at the last picture. "Finally, Frank... You helped Kate when she injured herself trying to escape from those demons. You could have left her to die, but you did not." Philemon waved a hand and the images had dissapated.

"Impressive... You are indeed worthy. Take these." Frank noticed that a pendant and a minature staff appeared on the floor in front of him. Frank picked them up.

"What are they?" He asked.

"The staff is a minature version of a weapon called the Meow Staff. If mixed with a justice class persona, it will make your Ultimate Persona, which is unique to you. The pendant belonged to a warrior from the second generation of the destined, in particular, one Katt Chaun. You have traits in you that are unique. Which is why your personas can only be used by you. You will find out about Emperor Dragon and your ultimate persona later. The pendant will help you think clearly, and focus in battle. As for Judgent:Angel, refer to her now as Judgement:Winlan. She is the spirit of Nina Winlan, the Windian Princess from the first destined cycle." Philemon had stated.

"So that's why she looked like that fountain in the park... And when Tellka told me... amazing..." Frank got out. He picked up the small staff and pocketed it. He then put the pendant around his neck.

"Philemon..." Kate started. "How did you know who I was?"

"She told me." Philemon had said. And with that, the spirit of a female woren appeared.

Frank looked at Kate, and noticed that she was about to cry.

"Kate???" Frank asked.

"Frank..." Kate said quietly. "That... that's my mother..."
