Chapter 7

"Frank, if we're going to take the Redwing person on... we're going to have to be well prepared." Telka told Frank.

Frank held back a yawn. "We are, so we can go anytime we can."

Kate spoke up quietly, obviously still disturbed by what she had learned earlier. "No we're not. You're extremely tired. I can tell that by just looking at you."

"Kate's right, Frank. Just how long have you been up?" Tellka added.

Frank scratched his head. "I don't know... what time is it now?"

"There's a clock on the wall behind you." Tellka told him.

Frank turned around and noticed an old fashioned clock on the wall behind him, which read five thirty.

"Let's see. I came here a little after eight this morning... When I left Lunarvale, it was around three in the afternoon, and I woke up at six thirty to get to school on time... That means I've been up for... a really long time now, and fighting off demons really didn't help me." he said to himself before rubbing his eyes and yawning again.

"I've been up for a lot more that half the day..." Frank started.

"Then rest a little bit." Tellka told him.

"Please... I don't want you to get hurt or anything." Kate added. Both Tellka and Frank looked at her curiously.

Frank then threw his arms up in defeat. "All right... you win... I'll take a short nap. Wake me up in about half an hour, and no later.

"We'll wake you up." Kate told him. Frank noticed that she was messing with the emblem on his jacket curiously, since she still was wearing it.

"Thanks." he just said. Frank then walked over to the desk, sat down, and laid his head upon the surface. Before he fell asleep, however, he removed his rapier from his belt and leaned it against the desk. Tellka asked him one question before he slept, though.

"Out of curiosity, Frank... How old are you?"

"Eighteen..." he replied sleepily. He wished he could have seen the look on their faces before he fell asleep.

"You failed me..." Redwing said to his servant.

The servant trembled with fear. "I'm... I'm sorry master. I wasn't expecting that guy dressed in grey to help her!" the servant said with a tone full of fear.

"You failed me... you know what happens wehe people fail to do their jobs correctly..." Redwing said in a dangerous tone.

The servant cowered in fear, and then was engulfed in a fireball. As the servant was screaming, he noticed that before he died, his master's eyes were glowing red. That was the last thing he saw.

"Nobody fails Nathaniel Redwing and lives..." he adressed the now charred skeleton in front of him.

The coliseum was now empty, save for Frank, Tellka, Kate, and Redwing. Everyone had left earlier after the incident that occured during the fight.

The Ranger guild decided that they would investigate into the matter in the morning. little did they know that it would be too late then.

Kate and Tellka were talking while Frank was asleep. Kate was examining Frank's rapier , while Tellka was looking at his shotgun which he had left leaning against a wall in the room.

Unknown to them, Nathaniel Redwing was hatching a plot of his own across the coliseum.

"That boy... Frank... He will pay with his life for messing with my plans..." He said as his eyes glowed once again.

Redwing started some sort of chant, and then instantly, there were demons and monsters in the room with him.

"Find Frank Maynard... kill him, and bring his head to me... While your at it, kill the oth er two woren as well." He said with a tone of venom.

The demons hastilly agreed, and started to roam the colliseium after Redwing let them out. Too bad that he did not know that the demons couldn't figure out how to open doors.

BLAM

Frank woke up with a start. He could have sworn that he heard his shotgun go off. He look up to find Kate holding his rapier and staring at Tellka. Tellka was covered in dust, and Frank noticed that part of the ceiling had been blown apart.

"I guess you turned the safety off and pulled the trigger." Frank said sarcastically.

Tellka just coughed, and then shook her head to get some of the dust out of her hair.

"What kind of gun is that? I've never seen anything like that here in Windia." Kate asked.

Frank picked up his shotgun from where Tellka dropped it. "It's a twelve gague shotgun, pump action. I got it from the Lunarvale Police Department." Frank then pumped the gun, and Kate and Tellka watched curiously as the spent shell fell out and bounced around on the floor.

"Why do you carry both a gun and a rapier? Wouldn't it be easier to use just one weapon?" Tellka asked as she brushed herself off.

Frank thumbed the safety on the shotgun before answering. "Nate discovered that using a Persona constantly can drain you physically. Therefore, he got some weapons from the police station for us to use." Frank replied. Kate and Tellka just looked more confused.

"Besides..." Frank continued. "Some demons couldn't be hurt by normal weapons, but guns worked wonders against them."

Tellka nodded, and Kate just look a little more confused.

"How long have I been asleep?" Frank asked.

"A little more then half an hour. Here." Kate replied as she handed Frank his jacket.

"Thanks. I feel better." Frank replied as he buttoned up his jacket. Frank then slung the shotgun on his back.

"Are we ready?" Tellka asked impatiently.

"I guess so..." Frank said as he retrieved his rapier from Kate.

"Please... I have to do this... for my mother..." Kate said quietly.

Frank and Tellka looked at her again.

"You sure you want to do this?" Frank asked.

Kate only nodded. Tellka ran to the door.

"Then let's go!" Tellka said impatiently. She opened the door, looked outside, then closed it again.

"What's wrong, Tellka?" Kate asked.

"I... think you both better have a look outside..." she said quietly.

Frank and Kate approached the door. Frank cracked the door slightly, and both he and Kate looked out. Kate went pale, and Frank muttered a curse.

There were demons roaming the colliseum, and they were trapped in there.
